Highlights from the rest of the English Football League.

The Sam’s open with Grimsby Town's shocking upset of Man United in the League Cup and have a bit of a laugh at the Red Devils' expense. From there, they chat about Josh Sergeant’s high-flying start to the season despite Norwich being mid-table. Wrexham got their first win, but Danny Ward's adventures are the bigger story. Reading finally got a win in League 1, and Accy continue to struggle in League 2.

A crazy weekend at the top of the Premier League table. VAR turned its ugly head on the West London Derby, City lost their second in a row, and a masterful strike separated Liverpool and Arsenal. Everton and Jack are cruising while Man U needed a late penalty to win against Burnley. Spurs lose, the Irons score 3 in 10 minutes, Newcastle’s drama appears to be over, and Marco Bizot! Stoke and Boro remain unbeaten in the Championship, while Wrexham finally grab a point — just not in the way they’d have liked. Sheffield United sit rock bottom, and over in League One, Cardiff climb to the top. Reading manages back-to-back draws but still hovers just above Posh, while Accrington stumbles out of the gates yet again in League Two. The boys wrap it all up with a look ahead to the midweek League Cup action.

The Sam’s open with a pair of emphatic 2-0 wins — Spurs shining and Everton surprising for very different reasons. Chelsea and Arsenal each drop five goals, Villa stumble again, and the weekend is filled with low-scoring matches. But Monday delivered the drama, as Liverpool blew a 2-goal lead only to snatch a winner at Newcastle.

Highlights from the rest of the English Football League.

The EFL’s already a couple of weeks in, and the tables are shaking up fast. Stoke have shocked everyone by climbing to the top of the Championship alongside Boro and West Brom. At the same time, Pompey sit mid-table with an early win, and Wrexham is quickly learning you actually need to defend in this league.

League One sees Stevenage sitting pretty at the top while giants Plymouth, Peterborough, and Reading languish at the bottom with 0-0-3 starts. In League Two, Chesterfield and Crewe Alexandra are both undefeated, while favorites Accrington Stanley stumble yet again out of the gate.

And of course, Sam checks in on Morecambe — with the club’s very survival hanging in the balance.
