Two people bound together in one relationship called wedlock will have expectations but what if they have different preferences, expectations, and priorities? They may try to sustain for a while under social pressure but if nothing works out then can’t they decide to get parted maturely? The big question is what if they have a child involved? When we decided to get parted, we looked at all aspects and concluded one thing - we will not be given any certificate or award to carry on this relationship without being happy and most importantly, we never had the feeling of love between us. While we had a difference of opinions - we could arrive on a similar ground of parting our ways, also, she happily offered for the child’s custody to be given to me.
People have a right to move on and choose their happiness over anything else; this helped me to break the bias that a mother should take care of kids and let us not be judgmental towards her about her decision. This is what people call being a “single parent”, whereas I call it “Dual-Role Parenting”.
