Last month, Brazilian jazz guitarist Fabiano do Nascimento stopped by the dublab studio for a brief, gorgeous set of solo guitar. Nascimento has collaborated with saxophonist Sam Gendel, singer-songwriter Mia Doi Todd, and legendary percussionist Airto Moreira and his newest album, Tempo Dos Mestres, is available now via Now Again. This performance is not to be missed.

Dieter Moebius left this Earthly plane on July 20, 2015 but before transcending, he left us with a wealth of music. As founding member, alongside Hans-Joachim Roedelius, of pioneering German Krautrock group Cluster and one third of Harmonia (Cluster + Michael Rother of Neu!) Moebius made some of the most beautiful, pastoral music to grace the air.

We had the great pleasure of connecting with Dieter Moebius when we co-presented Cluster's Los Angeles concert in 2008. In addition to their conversation with Nanny Cantaloupe in the dublab studio we had the great pleasure of creating a few films with the duo. You can view those below.

Over the years we stayed in contact with Moebius and he was always eager to support dublab's positive music mission. When we compiled our DUBLAB DISCO EDITS fundraiser compilation in 2011 he sent three great tunes for inclusion. We hope you enjoy the offering below. Animal Hands is the collaborative venture of two close friends, Will Samson & Heimer. Since the duo had worked closely together as mutual producers on Samson’s solo releases, Balance (2012) & Light Shadows (2014), it was natural that a joint musical project would eventually materialise. However, in comparison with these two preceding records, this new body of truly collaborative work takes a different direction into more electronic inspired sounds.

S. Araw "Trio" XI is a new configuration of the Sun Araw Band, the live-action collaborative branch of Sun Araw. Over the course of several studio dates in Hollywood, California, "Trio" players Cameron Stallones, Alex Gray, and Mitchell Brown (with no prior intentions of doing any such thing) successfully planted a garden of "non-dimensional" objects, not only spontaneously generating these objects but also mastering their nurture and cultivation. And You Can Too! Gazebo Effect is a 2xLP nocturnal stroll into the depths of the garden, its upper lawns and outbuildings. The listener is advised that as the objects have been "set growing" their location at any given time is difficult to predict. The Garden cannot be exited by the path it is entered, the angles involved being extremely precise. These factors (and others) clearly illustrate the value for oneself (and others) in the building of an observational structure: The Gazebo. However, it must be understood that the presence of this structure has a transformative effect on The Garden Itself. In other words, the "Gazebo Effect" is a music production system that allows a performance to be obstructed & (thus) interpreted while it is being played. What a Savings!

Following up his 2014 archival collection An Evolutionary Music (Original Recordings 1972 - 1979), Kalma found an ideal collaborator in Lowe and an ideal opportunity to innovate in the field of modularly synthesized electronic music which he helped pioneer. Voyaging along parallel paths until now, We Know Each Other Somehow shows these artists summoning another world in an otherworldly part of the planet, merging the collective voice with their own.

With the foundation of his musical life crumbling, Dayve Hawk was struggling to maintain a relationship with his project Memory Tapes. But through the difficulties, Hawk managed to keep this vital outlet going. Fallout / House On Fire, the new single from Memory Tapes, exhibits Hawk’s still strong songwriting talents and an alternative way of working.
