A British publication once offered a prize for the best definition of a friend. The winning definition read: "A friend is the one who comes in when the whole world has gone out." This is the kind of friend the apostle Paul was to the Thessalonians. They held a special place in his heart, that’s for sure. Yet, there were some who questioned his loyalty to them. His response is a valuable lesson in friendship for us all.

One of the things that helps us obey is knowing from whom the command comes, how much authority they have, and how much doing what they ask will matter. If the command comes from a coworker - it will not have the same impact as if it had come directly from the boss. Well, we have commands that have come directly from the Lord.
