The purpose of baptism is a highly debated topic in the Christian world. This episode is part 2 of a series I am doing as we look into the conversions of the book of Acts to see how the early church viewed baptism. In this video we will look at Acts 8 with the conversion of the Samaritans by the preaching of Philip. We will discuss why the Apostles came down to lay their hands on the Samaritans and critique some popular Christian commentators who seem to misunderstand Acts 8.

Psalm 89 is a key prophecy in the Old Testament referring to Jesus as the Messiah King. It is based on the original promise given to King David in 2 Samuel 7 that God would give him an everlasting Kingdom. This is ultimately fulfilled in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

King David was a central figure in the Old Testament. God actually revealed to him some major details regarding Jesus as the Messiah. In 2 Samuel 7, God tells David that the Messiah will come from his descendants and he will have a kingdom that would last forever. Will preaching on abortion drive people away or help save lives? This is something most preachers have to consider when dealing with abortion sermons. We want to make sure people feel welcome at church but we also want to be faithful to God and His Word. Should we even preach on abortion or should we leave that to private conversations?
