Episode 4 of Dying To Be Beautiful reveals the societal burdens Black women navigate in the workplace when navigating Eurocentric beauty standards, the pressure from within communities of color in policing and endorsing those beauty standards and beauty justice as a response to structural racism.

Episode 3 of Dying To Be Beautiful explores one of the most historically used preservatives in beauty and personal care products (revealing how it mimics estrogen in the human body), the connection between toxic chemicals and white supremacy and the Beauty Justice Act, currently sitting in the New York State Senate and Assembly, which if passed, would be the single strongest piece of legislation regulating toxic chemicals in beauty products, anywhere in the world.

The second episode of Dying To Be Beautiful explores the historical context for European beauty standards.  From Shakespeare to Jefferson, black beauty is the connective tissue that binds colonial ideals that linger to this day, but what are the consequences of the chemistry required  to achieve these standards?
