Dying to Meet You episodes

  • S3E5 | Chun Yih Tan "Every doubt you overcome, prepares you for the next bigger and greater challenge"

Chun's parents came from an era where hardwork and dedication were the key to success. They worked hard, kept grinding at life, and eventually managed to provide a decent life for their son. They gave Chun the same loving parental advice - "Forget your passion, just work hard. In thirty years, you can enjoy yourself."

That's certainly isn't the life the modern generation want for themselves. How did he manage his parents' expectations and still overcome multiple business hurdles to eventually make a unique mark for himself? At some low points in his life, Chun cried to himself, trying to reconcile "doing what's right" and "what he loves".
Chun is Singapore's most experienced trainer for the Wim Hoff method and has used the same methods to push his body and mind to peak performance.

  • S3E4 | Joshua Chin "Asking the right questions shapes your life"

John Wick is known to be a man of focus, commitment, and having high willpower. The same can be said for all successful entrepreneurs. He hustled hard, remained laser focus, and in a very short time, took his business to a million dollars. And the best part is, his business is not even an innovative world-changing one. He just fulfilled a specific need, and is focus on doing one thing right. The rest just falls into place.

  • S3E3 | Stephen McGown "Being yourself makes you live a gratifying life"

He learnt how to stay alive; remain positive and be present when everything was stacked against him. Uncertain as to whether he would ever be released or die in the expanse of the Sahara, he made a decision to not let his situation get the better of him. He decided to rather hold onto hope and take control of his attitude.
Stephen was finally released in August 2017.
Stephen shares how he tried swallowing his British passport to save himself, and how it was easy to appreciate even the crickets in the bush when you have nothing. All these led him to change his lens on how he views life. Listen to this podcast for inspiration.

  • S3E2 | Ray Ong "Even the low points are opportunities”

Today, Sweetest Moment is a renown brand that most parents would know, but founder Ray Ang did not get to where he is easily. In fact, there were too many points in his life he felt like he was thrown into the deep end of the pool and it was a learn-to-swim-now or die moment.

This is a great episode for those of us who are entrepreneurs; you can certainly feel un-alone in your journey. For those thinking starting your own business beats the stability (and pain) of working for someone else, listen to this first and steel your nerves for what is to come.
