Kick off the new year with yer auld pals. Mick wishes he had a joystick during PC shooter Descent, Andy visits a parallel universe version of everyone's favourite character in Super Mario Land, and McCormick visits the alien world of Panzer Dragoon Saga.

This is somehow our first Christmas special, in which everybody's favourite wisecracking bobcat is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past (Bubsy), Present (Bubsy 3D) and Future (Bubsy: Paws on Fire). Will he see the error of his ways or will his headstone be a testament to mediocrity? Also the boys give us their top 3 assigned games of the year (plus one stinker).

Our special guest this week gives an animator's (kind of) perspective on four Disney adaptations, with Andy getting shown the world of Aladdin, McCormick exhaustively describing Timon and Pumbaa's Jungle Games, Mick travelling through time with Mickey Mania and Matt stealing priceless cultural artifacts in DuckTales.

After numerous calamities a very late episode of Dynamite Neddy has arrived, where Andy blows up brutalist architecture in Silent Bomber, Mick visits the world's most stressful escape room in 999, McCormick gives the sidekick a chance to shine in Tails' Adventure and special guest Aero fears the arctic blast in Shining Force 3.

Mick revs up Full Throttle, McCormick takes issue with the horribly named Keith Courage in Alpha Zones and Andy has a Lynchian nightmare in the unintentionally terrifying art game Facade.

Mick plays jingoistic submarine adventure Silent Steel, McCormick launders McDonalds' image in Global Gladiators, Andy lurks in the Shadow of the Beast and special guest Johnny Branchfield plays the absolute classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
