As a man, I cannot rise unless my wife rises with me. We’re connected together, much like mountain climbers tethered together, or tennis players having to stay close to not expose any gaps. As much as we may put the expectation on our spouses to rise up on their own, where can we look to reach down and lift them up, or conversely, cut the rope and let them go?
