In this episode Tess talks to Tory. Although this is a hard topic to cover because both individuals love and respect the policing career, it is a topic that must be discussed none the less. Tory tells his story of being a new officer and dealing with a senior officer offering a bribe after Tory found a large amount of cocaine. He was ecstatic to have discovered such a great bust, when that happiness was quickly crushed by an officer looking to gain money from it. This event is highly unusual, at least at this department, and it lead to in in-depth stressful situation for the then young cop. Although after it was done he tried to continue to thrive, events that unfolded afterwards pointed him in the direction of leaving the department. That choice was extremely difficult for him, but it appears to have been the more lucrative one. He is now a successful business owner and has used that adversity, to help him thrive in other ways.
