This week we talk to Keith. He was on track to retiring from the military when he got a calling to change his path. During this drastic change, he also had the ultimate challenge in his belief system with the hardest loss a parent can experience. We  explore his different views on Christianity and how it applies to his everyday life. Since I am what I coin an "agnostic at best" I question his stance from my point of view. This gives you a more well-rounded look at religious views without any hate mixed in. We show respect for each other's journey and how our lives have led us to two very different belief systems.

In this episode we talk to Jaime who was abused by her biological father as a child. Although this could have defined her and caused a tragic life direction, she instead decided to stand up for herself, and go the hard route that led to a better future. In an event that typically doesn't have a happy ending, she was able to find hers. She is thriving today with an amazing family that she laughs heartedly with everyday. Although she alone had to make the choice to speak out, once she did her support system formed strongly and helped her get through it. This is a story for those that may be dealing with abuse personnally and are trying to find the strength to say something, or parents that are always looking for the red flags.

This conversation explores the journey of Ildiko Szekely. She began  swimming  at the age of three in the midst of a communist regime in Hungary. She was lucky enough to make it to the States when she turned seventeen due to her swimming talents. Now, the road to the US was unimaginable for those that have experienced the normal club swimming temperament. But, her journey did not end there. She has continued to thrive and challenge herself in ways we should all aspire to do. Currently, she is better known as "swimplify" on social media where she draws passion and interest to the sport of swimming. I am continually intrigued by her point of view after extreme hardships, and how she turned a sport that should have broken her, into a sport that keeps her thriving. 

If you are even the slightest interest in swimming be it just starting or pro, I would highly suggest following her Instagram page "Swimplify." She details workouts, drills, and just shares the pure enjoyment of the sport to motivate you to get in the water. Her book (link below) explores her inspiring journey more in depth and I highly recommend it to anyone needing a little motivation, to keep freaking going!

A retired cop and ex-marine discusses some of the worst calls that he has been on and how he was able to continue to show up, even though the calls never seemed to get any better. He  discusses  camaraderie and expectation of those around you to include the levity a team can bring to a situation. He was a perpetual shit magnet for the most messed up calls which gave him a leg up on experience, but a harsh perspective on life. However, even though this career has taken some of those closest to him, he still loved it for what it was. His path teaches us that passion for something means the good with the bad and with retirement, comes a whole other outlook. Listen, like, share, but please comment. In Episode 3 we talk to seasoned swim coach, Richard Mull. Although I got to know him when he coached at Michigan State, he has had a plethora of other experiences and achievements that are too numerous to name.
