Our second mentor is Stephanie Holt. Stephanie is based in California, she has more than twenty-five years working experience in the technology sector and fifteen years in executive leadership roles. Her unique insights support women from a place of experience and she is an advocate for women in STEM Executive Leadership.Β
In this interview, Stephanie shares how was to be women in Technology when she started her professional journey, her learnings and screw-ups. Her professional career took her to Singapore, where she tells us she gained perspective and confidence, in her own words, "those were different times, there were only two women with Executive roles in Singapore".
Stephanie retired in February, but being retired does not mean she is not active. On the contrary, she does corporate training, keynote speaking and speaks her mind in LinkedIn. Nowadays, she uses all her experiences in her training and keynote speeches. She is passionate about helping women and creating safe working environments for everyone.
We ask Stephanie about mentoring, she shares great tips and things you should think about when choosing your mentor. Amongst her recommendations: find mentors who are in a different industry and set clear expectations.
She shares a screw-up moment that taught her to never doubt herself again.
This podcast is presented by Lidia Lopez Trabalon and produced by How I met my Mentor.
