E28 [SUCCESS HABIT #6] Embracing Courage on the Path to Success

Listen Later

You know there’s a line between staying safe and breaking free to find what’s possible—that’s where courage comes in. Are you ready to discover what’s really holding you back on your path to success?

The comfort zone is inviting, but it’s also the place where dreams go to stall. Most of us get trapped in repeated thought loops, convincing ourselves to play it safe.

Breaking through what Donna and Londina call the “terror barrier” is the moment every business owner must face if they want more than just average results. Courage isn’t just about being fearless—it’s about moving forward even when you’re afraid.

What you need to know

We have 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day, and most of those repeat the same patterns. Those patterns reinforce comfort, making the idea of risk or growth feel threatening.

According to Londina, changing your attitude and intentionally directing your thoughts is the foundation for building courage. Donna shared how the cycle of thoughts leads to the same behaviors and the same experiences, keeping us locked in place unless we consciously shake things up.

Practicing new skills and facing fears in safe environments can retrain your brain, helping you prove to yourself that you’re capable.

What you need to do

Get good first—practice until what seems intimidating becomes familiar. If you fear something because you lack skill, work on it in safe surroundings. Consider getting a coach or mentor to guide you. Build up confidence through gradual exposure and repetition.

Remember, the key is to keep pushing a bit further each time, just like a baby gets up again and again learning to walk. Find your WHY—your purpose that’s stronger than your fear. When your reason for pushing through is bigger than what scares you, courage will take over and propel you beyond the terror barrier.

Your Next Step

Take stock of what’s sitting just outside your comfort zone. Pick one thing you’ve been putting off and decide on a simple, achievable first step—then do it afraid if you have to. Write down your reason: your WHY for pushing forward.

Keep it visible, revisit it often, and watch as your courage grows. If you’re ready for more, tune in to the next episode for Habit Number Seven: Confidence—where you’ll learn how thriving doesn’t require perfection.
