I’d like to begin this episode by acknowledging the land that I am learning and living on is the traditional un-ceded, un-surrendered territory of the Anishnaabeg Algonquin People.
Leading is hard.
Sure, there are some moments where being the leader is lots of fun, you know what I’m talking about, those moments where we are filled with pride at seeing a job well done, or when we’ve mentored or coached a team member and we see them succeed. But just as often, leaders are faced with difficult situations that make being an emerging leader a challenging spot to be in. If only there was a podcast dedicated to helping emerging leaders......
Anyhoo, in this episode, we’re going to discuss one of the most common challenges that emerging leaders face, and that’s having the hard conversation.
To do this, we’ll hear from ToriAnn Perkey and Laura Couvillon, who are fellow podcast hosts, and the founders of IntegrateUp an online recruiting business. Laura and ToriAnn will offer their insights and experiences on how to approach those hard talks. But wait!!!! I’m also bringing back a fan favourite, Brandon Maloney, the founder of Sketchs Ink, and he will join the group as a co-host, who will also offer his views on hard conversations that he’s experienced as an entrepreneur.
