I’d like to begin this episode by acknowledging the land that I am learning and living on is the traditional un-ceded, un-surrendered territory of the Anishnaabeg Algonquin People.
Mentorship is a funny thing, not make us laugh funny, but funny in that it’s very hard to find any business or any leader who would say that mentorship wasn’t absolutely invaluable to the health and success of people and business. The irony is that most people would also agree that mentorship programs are usually terrible in actually mentoring people.
In this episode, we’ll talk with Craig Anderson, a leadership coach who has mentored and been a mentor during his corporate and coaching careers. Craig and I will discuss the value of mentoring emerging leaders as well as the types of things that emerging leaders should look for in their mentor. Lastly, we’ll talk about how emerging leaders can be effective mentors for their direct reports.
