First time ever where we actually haven't played any games this week.. And we are hosting a gaming podcast?! GET OUTTA HERE!
Well anywho,
Nintendo has started to use it's amiibos more sneaky, now locking content behind a paywall. Amiibos used to be so innocent, mostly being a collector's item for the fans. With only bringing cosmetic or small functions to the games. But now a whole new fast-travel system is locked behind it for the upcoming re-release, Zelda Skyward Sword, Not good Nintendo, not good.
Speaking of potentially not good things, Sony has patented a gambling system for games. Where players can gamble with real money, cryptocurrency or in-game items. Is this really a good time to do that with all the rage and lawsuits going around. Comparing micro transactions and lootboxes to gambling and makiing them accesible for kids? Hmm, this can be a shitshow, but we'll just have to wait and see. Remember, just a patent for now.
Other than that, Starfield will be a Xbox exclusive, Returnal developers knew about the pricetag for the game the same time as the rest of us, and Take-Two plans to release 20 games this fiscal year.
