Welcome to the BWE! This episode is a two part special that focus' attention on social injustice and what inequalities are experienced for black people living in the United States. My guests are Brittney, the creator and host of 'Let's Bri Honest' podcast and James Robinson, a university graduate with a degree that concentrates in History and Sociology. Both Brittney and James are American and live the realities of inequality, racism, and fear of social injustice; because of the colour of their skin.
In Part 2, we continue our discussion of police brutality and expand our scope to include several incidents of black people being killed by police. We reflect on whether awareness towards social injustice has grown and discuss the continued struggles that are being faced and although public unity is more apparent, what else needs to be changed in order to effect meaningful and necessary change.
My sincerest thanks to Brittney and James for giving me their time and for their willingness to talk about such an incredibly important and necessary topic. 'We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters or perish together as fools' - Martin Luther King Jr.
