Salesforce just announced their second round of layoffs (over 10k employees). They said they grew too fast by overanticapming demand, the main way these companies cut cost is reducing marketing spend & firing recruiting & salespeople.   I was one of the first people talking about tech layoffs as I predicated in late September, right after twillio & DocuSign laid off 10% of workforce, that many more layoffs were coming. What has me worried this time around is that interest rates are still high, inflation hasn’t really moved, & February is when most layoffs happen anyways because it’s the final opportunity to do so while planning for the year ahead.   

None of us are safe right now, this should serve as maximum motivation to build your personal brand, diversify your income streams, & get your money right.  Personal brand: you need to be known outside your organization, pick one channel to build on, my recommendation would be linkedin, connect with me now if you haven’t,  Diversify your income streams, after you build the personal brand, find a way to monetize it. What seems obvious to you can be gold to others.  Get your money right: Reduce your expenses: I deleted door dash, you should be investing in yourself & your business
