Shortly after the Prophet's death, the companions of the Prophet entered into disputes. The disputes at some points turned bloody. How are Muslims supposed to understand such disputes between people that are loved and respected by Muslims? Later, after the rise of the Ummayad Empire, the grandson of the Prophet and his family were massacred by an Ummayad army. Supposedly, the Ummayads were leading an Islamic empire and were spreading Islam to the world; they also achieved many great things for the sake of Islam. How should Muslims view that great empire in light of the fact that the Prophet's grandson was killed under its rule? These questions are discussed in this episode with Professor Ovamir Anjum.
