We look at how Nehemiah cares for the poor in chapter 5. Instead of building an empire, the people need to experience God's kingdom.

Getting a better perspective, staying focused, ignoring criticism. We all want to do these things but all know how hard it can be. Nehemiah gives us a blueprint for achieving these things in our day to day lives.

Sunday's talk was split into two sections looking at Nehemiah 1 and 2 respectively. Sometimes we come to church full of joy, hope and thanksgiving and other times we come looking like death warmed up, and sing through gritted teeth. The opening chapters of Nehemiah speak to us in both situations.
