Do you believe money equals freedom, and the more money you have, the more freedom you have? I used to believe that too, until I hit my FI number, got myself to a place where I can live without a job, without active income, and realized that I’m still so far from being truly free. The counterintuitive truth about freedom is that you cannot be free until you let go of control, expectations and preferences. You can’t force freedom to happen. You can only surrender for freedom to happen.
