Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects about 10% of the adult population worldwide and its occurrence continues to rise across India as more young individuals today develop CKD. Alarmingly, many cases of CKD are diagnosed very late, when the kidney damage can no longer be reversed. The main cause behind delayed diagnosis is poor awareness of kidney health. Knowledge about kidney risk factors and protective measures enables one to take the necessary steps to protect one's kidneys.
