ERIN: Closing credits roll on an opening day attraction, three is better than two, Orange and the New Green, Piering into Pixar, a touching tribute, and seeing spots all over the Walt Disney World Resort. Hello and welcome to the the August 25th edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network. Bringing you Disney News you won’t believe….and probably shouldn’t...I’m Erin Dole.
PARKER: And I’m Parker Byrd. And Erin, we have commented in the past that at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando so many attractions have closed one wonders what there really is to do at the park anymore.
ERIN: That’s for sure.
PARKER: Well, believe it or not, as of August 13th yet ANOTHER attraction is closed.
ERIN: Seriously?
PARKER: And this was a biggie. The Great Movie Ride, the dark ride showing a cadre of the most notable scenes in cinematic history, and a scene from Alien, was the centerpiece of Disney’s Hollywood Studios (or Disney’s MGM Studios as it was called when it originally opened). It was housed in a replica of the iconic Grauman's Chinese Theater, where the whole putting footprints of Hollywood stars into cement began.
The Great Movie Ride was an opening day attraction when the park made its debut in May of 1989 and in fact was the only opening day attraction still in operation. While Star Tours and the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular show are still operating they did not open until later in 1989. So if I am not mistaken...
ERIN: And you usually are.
PARKER: This marks the very first time a Disney park has had all of its opening day attractions closed.
Now The Great Movie Ride is being closed to make way for “Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway”. While we will have more on that attraction as details become available early indications point to it being somewhat of an overlay to the current ride system. Essentially replacing the iconic movie scenes with those from Mickey Mouse shorts, and putting Goofy in charge of the ride vehicles. That should end well.
Anyway, they say it is always darkest before the dawn and certainly with this upcoming attraction, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and Toy Story Land in the offing, brighter days do seem to be ahead for Disney’s Hollywood Studios or whatever they may ultimately call it. But for now it seems like Disney has invented a whole new term for the industry…..the “¼ day park”.
ERIN: If that. Disney’s new ride sharing service, Minnie Vans, has begun operation at the Walt Disney World. This service, similar to Uber and Lyft, allows guests to make reservations through a mobile app for transportation to and from places within the resort. The vehicles carry the Minnie’s distinctive red with white dots pattern on the sides and a white roof with a black Minnie head outline with a red and white bow. These vehicles are not hard to miss. They take Disneybounding to a whole new level! An Uber idea from Disney to give guests a Minnie pick-up.
PARKER: This month also saw the relaunching of Mission Space in the Future World section of EPCOT at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The attraction’s previous versions “Orange team” and “Green Team” have been replaced with the names “Orange Mission” and “Green Mission”. The Orange Mission has pretty much the same storyline as it previously did, a simulated training mission to Mars, but the video has been upgraded to HD for a better experience. The Green Mission not only now has optional booster seats allowing the ride height minimum to be lowered to 40” it has a whole new mission. It is now an orbit of the Earth. You launch from Kennedy Space Center, cut through the middle of America where you pass over the Grand Canyon, San Francisco, the Hawaiian Islands, Japan, China, the Middle East, and Italy. You even see the northern lights. Then, weather permitting, you come in for a landing back at Kennedy Space Center.
Now it should be noted that ENN has learned that due to federal regulations surrounding the use of Kennedy Space Center in the film and the proximity of the park to that government facility, guest opting to ride the Green Mission will be required to purchase a one day ticket to Kennedy Space Center at $50 for adults and $40 for children.
ERIN: That's ridiculous!
PARKER: True Erin. But everyone knows that it usually costs a little more to go green.
ERIN: Really Parker? Already with this?
PARKER: Back after this.

FAUXMERCIAL: "Luxurious Lou: Hollywood Tower Hotel"
Hi...I”m Luxurious Lou from the "You Only Live Once So Live It Lapping the Luxury" blog and podcast with your featured luxury hotel of the week:
(EPISODE RESUMES)
ERIN: Welcome back to “Guest Room” on ENN. Turning our attention to Anaheim, one of the announcements coming out of D23 was the rethemeing of Paradise Pier in the Disney’s California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort into Pixar Pier. It will essentially be some different “neighborhoods” that will allow you to get up close and personal with some of your favorite Pixar characters including ones from “The Incredibles”, “Inside Out” and “Toy Story”.
Pixar Pier will open in 2018 as part of a resort-wide “Pixar Fest” celebration which will also include a new Pixar themed fireworks show at the Disneyland Park and the Pixar Play It parade will move to the Disneyland Park too. Pixar Fest will be a limited time event, but Pixar Pier will be a permanent change….or at least as permanent as things are any more at Disney...(Great Movie Ride).
Now ENN has learned that keeping with the Pixar tradition John Ratzenberger has been given a role in Pixar Pier. He has been hired to be the Custodial Host for the Pier.
PARKER: I’ll bet he really cleans up in that role is he doesn’t Hamm it up too much.
ERIN: Parker, you really went off the Cliff with that one.
PARKER: Back over on the East Coast, a new memorial was recently erected off of the Seven Seas lagoon at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, to remember Lane Graves. He was the young boy who died in June of 2016 when he was snatched by an alligator as he was wading along the edge of the Seven Seas Lagoon near Disney’s Grand Floridian hotel.
The memorial is a lighthouse, gold in color with two blue stars. It is the symbol of the Lane Thomas Foundation, which was started by the boy's parents in his memory and provides financial support for non-medical expenses to families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants at Omaha healthcare facilities.
The memorial is erected near where the attack took place. New safety measures and signage also came about as a result of this unfortunate event. It’s a beautiful memorial and one we hope will remain untouched in the future.
ERIN: And finally, over the past few episodes and on our YouTube series, Ears News Bites, we have covered many announcements coming out of the D23 Expo which was held last month in Anaheim, California. It ranged from a new ride themed off of Guardians of the Galaxy to a whole new transportation system at Walt Disney World.
But this announcement was a little different as it didn’t pertain to the parks but to another big part of Disney, the Cruise Line.
Disney announced that they are adding three new amazing ships to their cruise line. These ships are going to be bigger and even better than the newest ships, the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream. Not much detail has been released about these ships but we have been told that there will be about 1,250 guest state rooms which is just slightly larger than the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Disney Cruise line fans are expecting wonderful things from these new ships since the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy brought the Aqua Duck and the virtual portholes in interior rooms.
The Aqua Duck is a water coaster that goes out over the side of the ship for an amazing view while guests are riding. The virtual portholes provide guests in interior rooms with real time views from cameras on the side of the ship, with occasional surprise visits from animated characters.
Now most of the design has yet to be planned and even some of the names have not been thought of yet. But inside sources tell ENN that the recent close of the Disney Wishes fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom in the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, may actually have been not just to make room for a new fireworks show but to make room for a new cruise ship as well. There is speculation that one of the new ships will be named Disney Wishes, which, let’s face it, is all any Disney fan could ever wish for.
PARKER: (singing) Wishes!

No baker's dozen for Spaceship Earth, entire Tomorrowland Speedway to be recycled, red becomes black at Pirates of the Caribbean, three card monte for DVC members, and a new all inclusive resort of sorts from a galaxy far, far away.Hello and welcome to the the July 18th edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network. Bringing you Disney News you won’t believe….and probably shouldn’t...I’m Parker Byrd.
ERIN: And I’m Erin Dole. And Parker, you always say “Bringing you Disney News you won’t believe….and probably shouldn’t.” But you really should. I mean, look at our amazing track record.
PARKER: I’m not sure what you are getting at.
ERIN: Hello! I am talking about our first story! All these Disney news outlets are falling all over themselves about it and we reported it like two years ago.
PARKER: Erin! A little context….
ERIN: Right. Let's start with this clip from Episode 6, which is from EXACTLY 2 years ago where I was talking about Glidden Paint’s sponsorship of the Colortopia exhibit.
AUDIO Clip: (from Episode 6 of Guest Room on ENN)
ERIN: Colortopia may just be a drip in the pan, as we are hearing that Glidden has plans stirring to shake things up. Apparently they are negotiating with Disney to cover the sponsorship of the Spaceship Earth attraction and brush aside current sponsor, Siemen’s when their contract dries up in 2017. Part of their proposal is to spruce up the laser projectors to splash crystal clear and vibrant color palettes on the exterior of Spaceship Earth. But plans are also rolling to give the attraction interior itself a major freshening. They plan to pour on the creativity to touch up existing scenes and spill out new exhibits which will give guests a solid primer on the discovery, history, innovations and future of ….paint. The new spread will be renamed to “Paint Chip Earth”.
PARKER: Paint Chip Earth? You can’t be serious Erin.
ERIN: Well Parker it is still all “rumor” right now, and we will have better coverage in the future. But with such good stuff in the can don’t expect them to keep a lid on it much longer.)
PARKER; I do remember that story Erin
ERIN: Now consider that on July 3rd, the Orlando Sentinel reported that after 12 years, Siemens is ending their sponsorship of Spaceship Earth and Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at EPCOT in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. See Parker, I totally nailed it!
PARKER: Um, Erin. The only thing announced was that Siemens is going away. No new sponsor has been announced. So what about Glidden and Paint Chip Earth?
ERIN: Patience Parker..once the ink has dried on this Siemens news, you can expect the key players to stopping glossing over it, pry the lid off, mix things up, and flat out spread the Glidden sponsorship coverage from coat to coat.
PARKER: Erin, are you quite finished?
ERIN: Semi. Why?
PARKER: No reason...just tired of walking on eggshells.
ERIN: Really Parker?
PARKER: This past weekend, July 14-16th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, D23, the Disney Fan event held every two years, was...uh...held. As you probably already know, a HUGE number of major announcements were made which virtually blew up the Disney blogosphere. Too numerous to cover on one episode, we will, like many Disney fans, be talking about them for weeks to come.
One announcement that came out was the confirming of a rumor that the Tomorrowland Speedway in the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando Florida is being closed in 2018 to make way for a new attraction which will debut in 2021, which is also Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. That new attraction is the Tron Light Cycle Power Run which is currently only found in Tomorrowland at Shanghai Disneyland in China.
The attraction is a high-speed steel linear induction roller coaster that, at least in the Shanghai version, runs both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor portion in Shanghai is enclosed under a canopy however. The indoor portions are basically dark rides with numerous effects that put the riders into the heart of the action of the movie Tron Legacy.
The rollercoaster car seats themselves are shaped like motorbikes and guests hold on to handlebars. The ride is accompanied by high tech music and effects.
Now this change will undoubtedly be met with some sadness by longtime Walt Disney World fans. The Tomorrowland Speedway was an opening day attraction for Walt Disney World, though it was originally called the “Grand Prix Raceway” and was patterned off of the Autopia ride at the Magic Kingdom in the Disneyland resort in California.
Over its 45 plus years it has often been the very first car that many Disney fans have ever driven and is the source of numerous great memories. Recognizing this, Disney is rumored to be including at least one tribute to the Tomorrowland Speedway. At the end of the new Tron Light Cycle Power Run they plan to configure the returning cars to stop at the unload area, by ramming into the cars in front them. Nice touch.
(Story: PIrates Change - https://www.mouseplanet.com/11816/The_Redhead_to_Have_New_Role_in_Pirates_of_the_Caribbean_Attractions)
ERIN: Recently, Disney announced that the renovated Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at the Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Paris resort in Marne-la-Vallee (MON-la-va-lee) France would feature an updated scene. The scene in which the captain is auctioning off women to be brides is being changed. It will now feature a sign saying “Auction. Surrender Yer Loot”. The announcement regarding that change mentioned that that update would also be made to the Pirates attraction at both the Magic Kingdom in the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida, and the Disneyland Park in the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California when their versions are renovated in 2018.
News of the change worried Pirates fans, particularly those of the fan favorite “Redhead” featured in that scene.
PARKER: (In pirate voice) “We wants the redhead! We wants the redhead!”
ERIN: Well fear not Parker, as the announcement points out that the redhead is still there. Only now she is a pirate and the one making sure the townsfolk are bringing their possessions to the auction.
From victim to villain….interesting career move. What do you think Parker?
PARKER: Well Erin, it just goes to show that there is a thin line between a pirate’s wife, and a pirate’s life.
ERIN: ..for she!
PARKER: Nice.
ERIN: Back after this.

Fauxmercial: "WIsh You Were Here Magic Rings"
Erin: You know Parker, there is one thing that I hate about Disney.
Parker: (( A lot of surprise/loudy )) Erin, we are a Disney news channel, you can never say that. But tell me why anyway.
Erin: Well the fact that whenever you get bored and just want to see a character, there is never one around! Or, if you want to see a specific character you can’t ever find them. I mean it is ridiculous that WE have to find THEM. Shouldn’t THEY find those who want to see them. I wish there was something that you could use to create or summon the character.
Parker: (( commercial voice )) Well Erin, your wish has come true!
Erin: Uh no! Parker why are are you using your commercial voice?!
Parker: Because I would like to introduce to you the all new WIsh You Were Here Magic Character on Demand Rings. These stylish rings make the perfect souvenir in their own right. But it's their magical powers that really raise the bar. These quiet unassuming rings have two Character on Demand modes. If you are on Disney property, any Disney property, you can use the full-service mode. Say you or your loved ones are frustrated that you haven’t seen your favorite Disney character. No problem! Just tap a button on the ring, whisper that character’s name, and within 60 seconds, that very character will magically walk right up to you...guaranteed! No more endless searching, no more waiting in long lines! The character you want...when and where you want them!
Erin: Wow that sounds amazing!
Parker: But wait, there’s more! Once you have returned home, these rings don’t just become another pretty souvenir as you can use them in self-service mode. Say your child is feeling a little sad, and you think a visit from their favorite Disney character will cheer them up. Just slip out of view of your prince or princess, press the button whisper the character’s name, and be magically transformed into that character for the next 4 minutes and 55 seconds, (except for Cinderella who will only revert back at midnight). Once again the character you want...when and where you want them! Now the rings themselves retail for $19.99 plus shipping and handling. But it’s A113 price for the Character on Demand function. This is because…
Erin: Wait! I got this. Because magic ALWAYS comes with a price.
Parker: The WIsh You Were Here Magic Character on Demand Ring. Get your’s today!
Erin: Hey Parker! Can I see that?
Parker: Sure!
Erin: (( Beep )) (((( Whispered )))) Maleficent… Dragon Form
Parker: (( Dragon roar )) Erin!!
PARKER: Welcome back to “Guest Room” on ENN.
http://www.disneytouristblog.com/riviera-disney-vacation-club-announced-disney-world/
DVC members got a nice surprise at D23 with the announcement of the 15th DVC resort. This one will be called the Disney Riviera Resort and will be located next to the Caribbean Beach resort and will be on the Disney Skyliner loop, a new gondola system that will connect this resort as well as the Disney Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts with both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. More about the gondola system on our next episode.
Now there was little detail about theming of the resort, aside from the name, a little concept art and that it would include a rooftop restaurant with views of both the EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios nighttime entertainment.
This has lead to fans wondering if the resort will be based off of the Italian Riviera and feature some great Northern Italian seafood and pesto, or off of the French Riviera and feature some fancy French cuisine.
However, ENN has learned that it is more likely that Disney will roll the dice, take a gamble, and race to theme the resort based on the tiny Principality of Monaco. This speculation comes as a result of several Disney bloggers observing Bob Chapek, the Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, leaving the D23 Expo, in a Chevy Monte Carlo.
ERIN: Sounds all but confirmed to me! And finally….
At the D23 Expo it was announced that the official name of the Star Wars lands coming to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando and to the Disneyland Park in the Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California, will be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Both are expected to open in 2019.
However, some of the most exciting resort news coming out of D23 was the announcement of a new Star Wars themed hotel. This will be a different kind of hotel, billed to be “100% interactive”.
Guests will be given Star Wars attire, and their own character and storyline as they enter the hotel. Once inside they will encounter hotel staff who are also Star Wars attired and have their own storylines. There will be no windows to the “outside world”. Instead the windows will display scenery appropriate to the Star Wars universe.
To preserve the magic, guests will presumably be encouraged to remain within the confines of their hotel for the duration of their stay. In effect, the hotel stay becomes the attraction.
PARKER: They should of put the hotel in California.
ERIN: Why’s that?
PARKER: Well, it sounds like they’re programmed to receive. You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.
ERIN: I don’t get it….did I miss something?
PARKER: Apparently so.
ERIN: Anyway, the Star Wars themed hotel is all part of Disney’s new Disney 360 vacation concept. So this is likely just the first of many really cool experiences to come in the future.
Now despite there being little detail released an inside source has leaked to ENN a sampling of some of what awaits you in the resort. Just imagine...
PARKER: Wow. Why am I sensing a running gag with this one?
ERIN: With your bad humor Parker I would assume this would be the kind of gag you would cheer.
PARKER: Nah….boo.
ERIN: Seriously Parker! You just had to get the last one in didn’t you?
PARKER: Always end with the best Erin.
ERIN: Yes. But was it the End...or just the beginning.
PARKER: Well played.

ERIN: Cars 3 ducks box office projections, Tom Sawyer is an island once again, three equals two, and a tale no longer as old as time. Hello and welcome to the the July 6th edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network. Bringing you Disney News you won’t believe….and probably shouldn’t...I’m Erin Dole.
PARKER: And I’m Parker Byrd. On June 16th, Cars 3 made its U.S. debut. The Pixar film, the third in the Cars franchise, centers around Lightning McQueen in the twilight years of his racing career. In it, he is faced with adversity that he must try to overcome.
ERIN: Wait! A main character faced with an adversity they must overcome? That’s original.
PARKER: I can relate to it. Anyway as part of his attempts to overcome this adversity, he is partnered up with Cruz Ramirez a young trainer who is eager to use her talents to help Lightning make his return. It is a partnership that ultimately just may be successful. But I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you.
ERIN: More than likely you stopped researching it so you wouldn’t spoil it for yourself.
PARKER: Anything is possible Erin. Now, Cars 3 did take the number 1 spot on its opening weekend, even dethroning Wonder Woman for...
ERIN: Hold it Parker! We have some breaking news!
PARKER: Well, why didn’t you play the REAL ENN Breaking News sounder.
ERIN: Because I have no clue where it is. Seriously, when was the last time we used it on this podcast?
PARKER: I’ll find it..go on.
ERIN: This just in to ENN even though it happened on Friday, June 16th. Way to be on top of things there Carl!!!
Anyway, several outlets are reporting that a rather large piece fell from Monorail Blue as it departed EPCOT in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Jim Parker who goes by the Twitter handle @iOSTrade posted a picture of himself holding the piece which had fallen into the EPCOT parking as he and his friends were exiting the park. He indicated that the piece was eventually turned over to park security.
The monorail was then stopped as it approached the Ticket and Transportation Center and an evacuation was begun. However, some sources say the monorail was moved into the station to complete the evacuation. Needless to say, the entire line was shut down while this all took place, but was reopened later in the day.
Now Disney fan reactions are mixed, though many are concerned that the monorails may have reached the end of their use-able lives and should be replaced in the very near future. One thing is for sure though, closer attention needs to be paid to the structural integrity of the monorail cars, and you probably shouldn’t stand under the tracks.
PARKER: It does kind give a bigger meaning to the warning “Please stand clear of the doors”.
ERIN: Really Parker?
PARKER: Oh hey...I found the sounder….
SOUNDER: This is Breaking News on ENN. When news breaks count on ENN to clean it up.
ERIN: Well that was worth the effort.
PARKER: It’s all about production values Erin.
ERIN: So you keep saying
PARKER: Now back to Cars 3. The movie did take the number 1 spot on its opening weekend, even dethroning Wonder Woman for that spot. However, its $53.5 million in box office earnings from that opening weekend is lower than the $60.1 million dollar opening for Cars and the $66.1 million opening for Cars 2. Considering some had projected it would clear $80 million its first weekend there is some disappointment in the Pixar camp.
One Disney/Pixar insider says that they are beginning to second guess their decision not to go with an earlier plot twist. It seems that early on in the writing the idea was suggested to include classic Disney characters, namely Donald Duck, and a few of his singing friends in the movie. Donald would have portrayed Mack Duck the cousin of Lightning’s original hauler, along with two new Piston Cup drivers Jose CARioca, and PanAlfa, which is short for PanAlfa Romero McLaren Fiero Toyota Ascari Volkswagen, the III. These would not have been mere cameos either. In fact, the trio’s presence in the film would have been so prominent, that plans called for changing the title of the movie from the rather bland sounding “Cars 3” to the more intriguing title “The Three Carburetors”.
ERIN: Really Parker?
PARKER: Hey, you can’t make this stuff up!
ERIN: No I CAN but apparently YOU can’t.
ERIN: On Friday June 16th, over at the Magic Kingdom in the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California the Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyers Island was reopened.
Now the island had been shut down, as several attractions were, including the Disneyland Railroad, Mark Twain Riverboat, and Sailing Ship Columbia. This was due to the draining of the the Rivers of America and reconfiguring of the railroad track, to make room for the upcoming Star Wars land. With the Rivers of America now refilled, rafts could one again make their way to the island.
Captain Jack Sparrow was on hand to make the inaugural return to the island. Guests were excited to return and see the slightly freshened up island. However, some things were still closed including the treehouse and Fort WIlderness. The fort is expected to remain closed permanently as it is being used for dressing rooms for the cast of the Fantasmic show.
While most fans are happy that the island is reopened and are enjoying the nostalgia, some are little frustrated by the tree carving that said Tom and Becky being replaced with Han and Leia. Back after this.

PARKER: Welcome back to “Guest Room” on ENN.
Several Disney news sites noticed a change when Disney released its Walt Disney World Resort park calendar for August. The “Festival of Fantasy Parade” at the Magic Kingdom which generally runs everyday at 3 pm is listed as being at 2 pm starting on August 20th. The change did not come with any formal announcement or explanation which has resorted in, as you would expect, wild speculation.
As we alluded to last episode, some people believe the Paint the Night parade which was replaced, supposedly temporarily, by the Main Street Electrical Parade at the Magic Kingdom in Disneyland in California, would actually be coming to to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World in Florida which currently has no night time parade. Those folks believe the afternoon parade is being moved forward to allow more time to set up for Paint the Night.
Other rumors have pointed to the fact the change takes place just days before the very first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween event of 2017 and that perhaps moving the parade earlier will facilitate that.
Still others have suggested that 2 pm is usually cooler than 3 pm, albeit very slightly.
But ENN has learned the true reason for the move. Inside sources tell us that move was being done as a social experiment. When cast members get that inevitable question “What time is the 3 o’clock parade?” they can now answer “2” …..and track how long it takes for the guest to realize something isn’t right.
ERIN: That seems mean!
PARKER: Hey. What can I say? Disney loves their research!
ERIN:
By now everyone, whether they grew up with Disney or not, should know about the old classic story, Beauty and the Beast. Disney Cruise Line has decided to create their own retelling of this classic tale. They have put together different parts of both the animated and live-action film. ENN recently found out that they are taking this to a whole new level.
PARKER: Really?! I mean how much can they change without completely changing the story. They already made it live-action how many more levels are there?
ERIN: Well Parker they decided to tell it through a certain perspective. They are trying to tell the story through Belle’s father’s narration. They have even been working on a specific set design that has not been used in the movies so far. In the recent live-action movie they showed that Belle’s father had a music box. The set designers for this show have decided to use the music box as a key element. They plan to start the show by having Belle’s father open up his music box to tell us the story as the audience goes inside the music box. Rotating doors or walls in the set will remind us of how a music box winds up.
PARKER: Wow they really are adding SOMETHING THERE aren’t they?
ERIN: Well there are a couple more things. Some of the songs are getting redone to match the new style of the show. There are going to be more music box like rhythms in some songs like, “Something There,” “Belle,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
Now there were a few extra songs in the live-action film and our sources say that they will stay in this production too. We got a quote from the song director, Adam B. East who believes that “The new songs added more feelings into the movie that we decided to keep them for this production to keep that charm alive.” Even though they are remaking some of the songs, the joyful familiar songs like, “Gaston” and “Be Our Guest” will pretty much remain the same.
Visually we have been told that the show’s makers are advancing video projection to make the characters seem that they are actually moving from place to place. The costumes are also taking on a whole new design though we have been told that some elements may remain the same. So even if you are a little hesitant about the new update of this classic tale don’t worry, the same iconic characters, songs, and scenes are going to give you that same classic feeling that we all know and love!
PARKER: So Just a little change?
ERIN: Small, to say the least
PARKER: I’m a little scared
ERIN: I know I’m not prepared for this Beauty and the Beast.
PARKER: On that note….that’s all for this edition of ENN’s “Guest Room”. If you would like to comment on this episode or would like to send along a news story for us to look into drop us an email at [email protected].

Guardians get a lift, Disney Magic goes Dutch, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a little blue, and the Magic Kingdom could be in for a slightly used paint job. Hello and welcome to the the June 8th edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network. Bringing you Disney News you won’t believe….and probably shouldn’t...I’m Parker Byrd.
ERIN: And I’m Erin Dole and on this episode two big openings! One at Disneyland in Orlando, California, and the other at Walt Disney World in Anaheim Florida.
PARKER: Erin, it’s actually Disneyland in Anaheim California and Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida.
ERIN: Are your sure?
PARKER: Positive!
ERIN: Well that’s embarrassing…..
PARKER: I suppose it is.
ERIN: For whoever wrote the script I mean. COME ON CARL! You are SO FIRED!!!!!! Anyway…..At Disney’s California Adventure in….. The Disneyland Resort?
PARKER: Correct
ERIN: In Anaheim.....California?
PARKER: Ok.
ERIN: Sorry….in Anaheim, Oklahoma
PARKER: I give up.
ERIN: The re-theming of the Hollywood Tower of Terror into a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction officially made its debut on May 27th. This updated attraction, now called “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!” utilizes the same ride mechanism of the old Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror attraction, essentially a crazy elevator ride, but is much friendlier in tone and appearance. The idea is that the “Collector” is showing off his newest finds, the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket has escaped and is enlisting your help in freeing the other guardians. The elevator stops at several floors and we see each character on display.
The collector has seemed to have traveled throughout the entire galaxy because we see many artifacts from past avengers and x-men. There are even a few artifacts that represent battles.
Now I want to see you marvel knowledge Parker. And any listeners out there can try this too. The answers will be in the show notes on our website.
The collector has gathered a few items throughout the galaxy. Try to figure out who or what these items refer to, ready Parker?
PARKER: Ready Erin!
Erin: A damaged Ultron Sentry:
PARKER: The battle in New York?
Erin: No. Terrigen Crystals?
Parker: Asgard?
Erin: (ad libbed response) A red leather jacket and a pair of silver shoes?
Parker: Black Widow?
Erin:(ad libbed response) Eye Patch? This one is so easy you have to get it .
Parker: Captain Jack Sparrow!
Erin: Last time i checked Captain Jack Sparrow wasn’t a superhero. He didn’t even wear an eye patch. You don’t really seem to be getting any of these right so I am just going to list them:
Ok well anyway the answers the this Marvel trivia of sorts will be in the show notes. It is amazing how much the collector managed to gather from the avengers. These are all references back to other marvels movies that they have thrown into this ride. We heard that the collector himself doesn’t even know where most of these items came from. All he knows is that these items were special at some point in time so he collected them, I guess his name does suit him then right Parker.
PARKER: "Suit" him? I see what you did there!
On May 25th the Disney Magic made its first ever stop in Amsterdam which is the capital of the Netherlands. The stop was part of an Eastbound Transatlantic cruise which left Port Canaveral on May 13th. The city is rich in culture and history and contains many canals throughout the city. The stop afforded guests a chance to see Dutch culture up close and personal. However, some guests were confused as in Disney’s truly family atmosphere, Cruise Line employees were instructed to refer to the port strictly as AmsterDARN.
ERIN: Well that joke was a real “Dutch Treat”.
PARKER: Stick a finger in it Parker!
ERIN: Back after this.

ANNOUNCER:
AN ATTRACTION THAT STRIKES FEAR INTO THOSE WHO DARE ATTEMPT IT. AN EXPERIENCE SO EPIC, SOME BELIEVE IT SHOULD ONLY BE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT. THE INTENSE EFFECTS AND NEAR CACOPHONOUS SOUNDS OVERWHELM ALL BUT A HARDY FEW.
ON THIS VOYAGE, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT LIES AROUND THE BEND, AND WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT, YOU MAY JUST FIND OUT THE HARD WAY….
(whistling a haunted version of Its a Small World theme)
….THAT ITS A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL. NOW PLAYING AT A DISNEY PARK NEAR YOU. CHECK LOCAL LISTINGS.

ERIN: Welcome back to “Guest Room” on ENN.
Now of course there was a big opening on the East Coast as well. On Saturday, May 27th, the same day Guardians opened, over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, the new land Pandora, World of Avatar made its official debut. The area is themed to look like Pandora, the setting of James Cameron’s 2009 film, Avatar. It comes complete with floating mountains and bioluminescent vegetation.
With a more detailed explanation here is ENN correspondent Natalie Azou who is at Disney’s Animal Kingdom checking out the new land. So Nat, tell us what you think of the new theme, your overall impression of Pandora, your thoughts on the attractions, and what the lines were like.
NAT AZOU: Awesome. Awwesome! Awwwwesome!!! Not so awesome. Back to you.
PARKER: Uh thanks, Nat Azou, ENN correspondant. That report was Awww….
ERIN: ...kward! That’s what that was Parker. I told you I should have gone! Anyway, Pandora, World of Avatar sports two new major attractions.
The first, “Na’vi River Journey” takes you on a slow boat ride through the bioluminescent forest. You see lots of wonderful colors, plants, and are even greeted by a Na’vi shaman toward the end of the ride. And while you will want to reach out and touch all the wonderful things you see, like any attraction you will need to keep your hands, arms and legs inside the boat…..and please...whatever you do….don’t squeeze the shaman!
(Long pause)....Well??
PARKER: You’re on a roll.
ERIN: Really Parker?
PARKER: The other attraction which opened is “Avatar Flight of Passage” which is essentially a flight simulator complete with 3D effects which has you flying on the back of a mountain banshee over the Pandora landscape. With a flight through a floating mountain, down a flowing river, overtop a running herd, and even over the ocean where a whale-like creature breaches the surface…..only one question will be on your mind….”Why didn’t they just call this Soarin’ Over Pandora?”.
ERIN: Parker there can only be one Soarin’!
PARKER: I’m just kidding Erin. This is definitely not Soarin’! But ending the ride with fireworks over the Tree of Life was a bit much.
And finally, rumors continue to persist that the “Paint the Night Parade” which was replaced at Disneyland in January of this year by a limited run of the Main Street Electrical Parade, may actually be destined for Walt Disney World instead of resuming in Disneyland after the Main Street Electrical Parade’s plug gets pulled.
ERIN: Wait Parker….how is that again?
PARKER: It’s really quite simple Erin. The “Paint the Night” parade which was at Disneyland until January of this year when it was replaced with a limited run of the Main Street Electrical Parade, could be heading to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World which currently has no night time parade just Festival of Fantasy, the 3pm parade which is moving to 2pm but more about that on another episode. Which, if this rumor is true begs the question as to what the nighttime parade at the Magic Kingdom in Disneyland will be once they end the limited run of the Main Street Electrical Parade which has already been extended to August 20th. We know it won’t be Spectromagic, which ran for a long time at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World as we heard reports 4 years ago that they permanently destroyed all the floats. Spectromagic was replaced by the Main Street Electrical parade which then up and left in 2016 to go to Disneyland to replace Paint the Night parade which may now becoming to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Which begs the question….
ERIN: Parker!
PARKER: Yes Erin?
ERIN: I think this where we came in……
PARKER: Right.
ERIN: Don’t you just love rumors???
And that’s all for this edition of ENN’s “Guest Room”. If you would like to comment on this episode or would like to send along a news story for us to look into drop us an email at [email protected].

No Wishes Left, but you still can live Happily Ever After, Heroic things happening at California Adventure, Marvelous things happening on the open sea, and lessons learned by one young world traveller.
Hello and welcome to the May 15th edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network, bringing you Disney news you won’t believe…..and probably shouldn’t. I’m your host, Erin Dole, Enn’s Disney cruise line expert
PARKER: And I’m Parker Byrd. But Erin there is no need for specific titles at ENN
ERIN: I just want to feel more important to ENN.
PARKER: Erin, you ARE important to ENN.
ERIN: Aw, thanks but I am still using that title.
PARKER: OK then....Last Thursday, May 11th marked a bittersweet occasion for Disney park fans. It was the final performance of Wishes, the nighttime fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Wishes ran some 13+ years, debuting on October 9th, 2003, which means it was seen...about…
ERIN: Wait Parker….I got this. Let’s see May 11th, 2017 minus October 9, 2003, subtract a bunch for rainouts and park hurricane closures, add a half dozen or so for some double show nights they ran around Christmas in 2007....carry the January….and we come up with approximately 4,873…. give or take a dozen...or two.
PARKER: Jiminy Cricket! That’s a lot!
ERIN: Really Parker?
PARKER: While the ending of Wishes was a sad day for many, it made way for a brand new fireworks show.
“Happily Ever After” made its debut last Friday, May 12th to the excitement of many. This new show combining fireworks and unbelievable projection mapping on Cinderella's Castle and surrounding spires stunned the crowd.
Let me tell you, to be there in person and experience the excitement, energy, color, technology, fireworks and captivating soundtrack...well it is an indescribable experience!
ERIN: Wait! Parker! You were there????
PARKER: On what we get paid? No way. I watched it on YouTube. Which is why it is….
TOGETHER: ...an indescribable experience.
ERIN: I see what you did there Parker
PARKER: You’re learning rookie. Disney Parks live streamed the opening night to eager fans who could not be there. But in case you didn’t see it I will keep the rest of the story spoiler-free.
ERIN: Good idea.
PARKER: As I said, the show makes tremendous use of the projection mapping technology. Some amazing digital effects and animation bring the castle to life! The show celebrates music and characters from some of the greatest Disney movies of all time.
ERIN: Which ones?
PARKER: Can’t tell you...spoiler-free..remember?
ERIN: Right.
PARKER: I can say though that while there are still some great fireworks
ERIN: Ooh...any new ones?
PARKER: Can’t say…
TOGETHER: Spoiler-free…
ERIN: Oh….but you CAN confirm there were fireworks in it?
PARKER: Yes Erin, I CAN confirm that there were fireworks in the FIREWORKS show. But, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, the projection mapping, in my humble opinion, was clearly the focus of the show.
ERIN: Well that’s new?
PARKER: Projection mapping? Not really...it's been used in several other Disney fireworks shows over the last several years.
ERIN: I know that! What I meant was new was you having a HUMBLE opinion. (Long pause)....you can continue…….Parker?....
PARKER: I’m ignoring you…..I will say that half way through the show I became quite concerned that I had yet to see Tinker Bell make her appearance and wondered if they had removed that very historical mainstay. (Long pause)
ERIN: Well?
PARKER: Well what?
ERIN: Did Tinker Bell ever appear?????
PARKER: Can’t tell you...its.
ERIN: Spoiler free...I KNOW! I give up! MOVING ON!
ERIN: Over at Disney’s California Adventure Park in the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California, things are getting quite...heroic as the park prepares for its “Summer of Heroes” celebration.
PARKER: Oooh...sounds delicious?
ERIN: Huh?
PARKER: Only where I come from they are called hoagies.
ERIN: Seriously Parker….they are talking about superheroes...you know...like from the Marvel universe.
PARKER: Oh right...of course. I knew that.
ERIN: Sure you did. Anyway, several awesome experiences will be going on during that time including
Now, the randomized sequences will include music from the late sixties through really early 80’s. The songs include:
Now Disney claims their imagineers started with a list of over 100 songs and whittled them down to these six.
As an exclusive, ENN has learned the names some of the songs that just missed the cut. Great songs like:
PARKER: Hey! I like that one.
ERIN: You would.
Oh….and given the attraction’s past as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Disney Imagineers thought it would also be a good idea to remove from the list the song….The Final Countdown. What do you think of that one Parker?
PARKER: Mmmbop, ba duba dop ba du bop
ERIN: PARKER!
PARKER: Sorry...as you said….insipid….back after this!
(Fauxmercial begins)
ANNOUNCER: Imagine a world where you can walk, run, and play with creatures you once thought impossible.
WOMAN 1: Ah, isn't he cute?
ANNOUNCER: Where majestic beasts you previously only read about stand before you in vivid living color.
MAN 1: Ah, you're a good girl aren't you?
ANNOUNCER: But this world has a darker side.
MAN 2: Wait, you made a new one? That doesn't seem like a good idea!
ANNOUNCER: One that turns this fantastic dreamland, into a horrific nightmare!
DISPATCHER: 911, what’s your emergency?
WOMAN 2: I'm being chased by a creature.
DISPATCHER: Can you describe it?
WOMAN 2: It's big, tall, has spots, and a giant ugly purple tongue!
(animal yell is heard)
ANNOUNCER: Giraffic World. A new interactive nighttime experience. Coming soon to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Giraffic World is copyrighted by Disney. Any similarity to a Universal property is purely intentional.
(Fauxmerical ends)
ERIN: Welcome back to ENN, the Ears News Network.
The Disney Cruise Line currently has a Star Wars Day at sea which is only on select cruises each year. Last year the Disney Cruise Line announced a new Marvel Day at Sea. This was to only happen on the seven cruises on the Disney Magic which are leaving from New York City in the fall of 2017. But recently DCL announced that it will also happen on an additional 8 cruises on the Disney Magic that depart from Miami in early 2018.
This event will also be accompanied by special viewings of certain Marvel movies and special Character meet and greets.
ENN has also learned that there will be themed decoration overlays to the ship’s restaurants.
We contacted the same designer that gave us the information on the forthcoming Granny’s “Once Upon a Line Diner” to get insight on some amazing designs being added to the restaurants for this special night. While the decor will change significantly, to avoid confusing guests Disney has opted to keep the restaurant names the same.
Animator’s Palate will be themed after Captain America. The much beloved changing walls will start the evening reflecting Captain America’s time during World War II before shifting into a significantly long icy period, and ultimately show scenes of his time with the Avengers and Iron Man.
Hulk will appear at Lumiere’s, the normally Beauty and Beast themed restaurant. That’s not right.
Thor will make his appearance in Cariocas where the South American themed restaurant will take on the look of the American Southwest.
And not surprisingly, Palo, the adult-exclusive restaurant, will feature Deadpool.
While I am glad that they are giving Marvel its proper due, I think these restaurant themes are tenuous at best. Besides, this seems like a big renovation for only 15 select cruises, don’t you think so Parker?
PARKER: Well it does seem STRANGE that they would take on such COLOSSAL and DAREDEVIL changes as by going ROGUE they might create a STORM of FURY against them. But I guess they wanted to create that MARVELous X factor.
ERIN: Seriously Parker? It's like you Googled a bunch of Marvel names and strung them together for that joke! You're not going to fool me with your... Comic con.
PARKER: (long pause)....Nicely played rookie!
PARKER: And finally, Duffy B. a cast member who works in World Showcase in EPCOT at the World Disney World Resort in Orlando emailed “Guest Room” to tell us this cute story. He was working the KidCot Fun Stop in the Mexican pavilion one day and was helping an 8 year old guest who was coloring. Duffy asked her how many of the stops she had visited.
The girl held out her fingers and started counting. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven…..eight, nine….and ten. Ten!
“Wow!”, Duffy said, “That means you did them all! A complete trip around the world. Did you learn anything?”.
“Uh huh” replied the girl, whose eyes were slowly closing as she stifled a yawn.
“What’s the biggest fact you learned today?” , he asked.
The girls eyes flew open, her face got serious. She grabbed his arm and leaned in to whisper. “It’s not a SMALL world after all!”
ERIN: You just had to get one more ear worm in didn’t you?!?
PARKER: And that’s all for this edition of ENN’s “Guest Room”. If you would like to comment on this episode or would like to send along a news story for us to look into drop us an email at [email protected].
You can listen to this and future episodes by finding us in the iTunes store and on Stitcher, just search on Ears News Network. Details can be found on the “How to Listen” page at EarsNews.net. There you can find links to our Facebook page and Twitter account as well.

ERIN: And me, Erin Dole, thanks for listening to the Ears News Network, the mistrusted name in Disney news. Goodbye everybody.

An amazing, beloved and humble Disney podcast returns, Magic Kingdom guests are now getting bagged even earlier, good and bad food on one Disney Cruise ship, and an a”Depped” Jack Sparrow in the Pirates attraction which some fans get hooked on.
Hello and welcome to the May 1st edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network, bringing you Disney news you won’t believe…..and probably shouldn’t. I’m your host, Parker Byrd.
ERIN: And I’m Erin Dole…
PARKER: Now before we get started, Erin we should recognize that this is the first episode we have done since January 15th of 2016.
ERIN: That’s correct Parker.
PARKER: And we think we owe to you, our listeners, an explaination of why that is.
ERIN: This should be good….
PARKER: We here at the Ears News Network take our job very seriously. We recognize that in this busy world, you have a limited time to consume Disney information. So we have committed ourselves to deliver high quality truth-breaking news when it happens.
ERIN: Are you going somewhere with this Parker?
PARKER: Yes I am Erin’. I am trying to explain to our listeners that we haven’t put out an episode in over 15 months because well, lets face it. Nothing has really happened in the Disney community since then…
ERIN: Wait! Parker are you kidding?
What about “Finding Dory”?
The opening of Shanghai Disneyland?
The “Frozen Ever After” ride in EPCOT?
Hello! Um “Rogue One”?
Like a Bazillion Marvel Movies.
Moana.
The “Soarin’” and “Midway Mania” expansions
The closing of Streets of America, Honey I Shrunk the Audience Playground and Lights Motor Action stuntshow at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Removal of Sum of All Thrills and StormStruck at EPCOT.
Not to mention all the stuff coming out about Pandora and the Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom
All the changes to the Food and Wine and Flower and Garden Festivals.
What do you mean nothing has really happened?!?!
PARKER: Erin…..Erin…..!
ERIN: Yes Parker?!?
PARKER: Welcome back…..(aside) rookie.
Last month new security changes were put into place at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Previously, guests went through metal detectors and bag checks directly in front of the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. Those have now been relocated. Guests who drive to the Magic Kingdom will be screened at the the Ticket and Transportation Center prior to boarding the ferry or Monorail. Guest staying at resorts on the Monorail Resort Loop will be screened at their respective monorail stations before boarding. Guest arriving on resort boats will be screened as they exit the docks. A new screening area has been added between the resort bus unloading area and the front of the park for guests arriving that way, and even one added to the top of Cinderella’s castle for arriving pixies. What do you “Tink” of that one Erin?
ERIN: Really Parker? Anyway, why do you think they made the changes.
PARKER: Well Erin, first and foremost it keeps the entrance of the park from getting so overcrowded.
ERIN: Makes sense.
PARKER: Second, let’s face it. Bag check can be stressful and it’s really annoying to be putting everything back in your bag and zipping up all the pockets while you are entering “The Most Magical Place on Earth”.
ERIN: I can definitely see that.
PARKER: And third, and most importantly, it frees up the area in front of the entrance to put in something really cool.
ERIN: Really? What?
PARKER: Personally I am hoping it’s the location of yet another Florida Wawa. Because nothing says Main Street like some good coffee and a Philly soft pretzel!
ERIN: Or maybe they could put in another Starbucks! Then the one on other end of Main Street could be used for a second cup.
PARKER: Really Erin? You do remember what happened on Episode 2?
ERIN: Good point.
Disney Cruise Line currently consists of four amazing ships, the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic which are sister ships, and the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream which are also sister ships.
Disney recently announced two new sister ships were going to be built. We hear that both are going to be big...and I mean big!! Recently ENN got special access to one of the designers of these amazing ships. This designer told us that there is going to be a special surprise for all of the Once Upon A Time fans out there.
PARKER: I love Once Upon A Time! I am so excited! It’s like my “Maine” show!
ERIN: Parker please! Just stop!
Anyway, the designer told us that they are going to feature Granny’s Diner from Once Upon A Time as one of the three restaurants that you rotate through for dinner on the ship. They are calling this restaurant Granny’s Once Upon A Line Diner. That sounds like something you would come up with Parker.
PARKER: Why do you say that?
ERIN: Because it is a bad joke about the diner being on the cruise line. Anyway some of the light entrees will include:
Darker entrees include:
Best of all, you will be able to finish your meals with either a slice of Snow White Chocolate Cake or a scoop of Really Icy Rocky Road.
This restaurant was originally supposed to be included in the Disney Wonder’s renovation but due to numerous difficulties in the design of the restaurant they opted to go with Tiana’s Place instead.
PARKER: So you could say that for the Disney Wonder the Once Upon a Line restaurant was cursed from the start.
ERIN: True. But clearly Emma stepped in.
PARKER: We would like to welcome a new sponsor to Ears News Network….Main Street Travel. (ad copy)
Back after this.
FAUXMERICAL:
It may be a classic but it's the attraction that set the standard for all others. With its near constant high-speed turns, variable elevation changes, 15 feet in two seconds flat,. And the best part is it's a duel, side-by-side!
But no matter which one you get, it's 100% pure thrill.! You could lose your hat, you could lose your nerve, you could even lose your lunch! But whatever you do don't lose your magic feather!
Dumbo the Flying Elephant! Now flying in a park near you. Dueling option only available at the Walt Disney World resort.
(Podcast resumes)
ERIN:
Welcome back to ENN, the Ears News Network.
E! News has reported that on Wednesday evening, April 26, riders of Pirates of the Caribbean ride in the Magic Kingdom in the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California were the first to see a newly upgraded Captain Jack Sparrow being tested out. They noticed it where Sparrow makes his appearance while the mayor is being dunked.
PARKER: (In bad spanish accent) Don’t tell him Carlos! Don’t be cheekin!
ERIN: Seriously Parker! We don’t need your “poultry” comments.
PARKER: Sorry.
ERIN: Anyway,This version was so natural and lifelike that many people swore it was Johnny Depp...because it was. The popular and versatile actor had taken the place of his animatronic counterpart and was even mimicking the motions and lines that normally appear there. Fans were going crazy!
While many suspect the stunt was to help generate buzz for the upcoming release of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” it turns out it was actually part of an exchange program. While Depp was
standing on golden sands and watching the ships that go sailin'. Somewhere beyond the sea the animatronic, nicknamed Johnny….. 5, was preparing to replace Depp in the filming of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2.
PARKER: Wow! Sounds like Depp may have “stiff” competition there.
And finally, in related news, LJ Silver, a cast member at that same “Pirates” attraction at the Magic Kingdom in the Disneyland Resort, told us about an interesting encounter he recently had with a guest. One particular day he noticed a young girl who came through the queue numerous times. Now a lot of people like to reride this attraction, but LJ noticed that each time she seemed to be more and more frustrated. Finally LJ’s curiosity got the better of him. As she approached he said to the girl “Aye there Lass, why you been looking so salty?”
The girl gave him a stern look and said “I have ridden this ride many times and I still can’t find the Captain”.
LJ smiled and said “Aye, he is a tricky one to find. But if you keeps your eyes sharp when they are dunking the mayor in the well, you just might spy that sly Capt. Jack Sparrow”
“Not him!” snapped the girl, “Capt. Sparrow is really bad at hiding. I’m trying to find Hook.”
LJ was confused at first, but finally replied “Oh Lassie, you won’t be finding Capt’s Hook in these seas, he only hangs out with Peter Pan in Fantasyland.”
“Not true!” yelled the girl, “Hook has to be here!”
“And why is that lassie?” asked LJ
“Duh!”, she explained, “Because this is Pirate of the Carabiner right?”
ERIN: Parker, I’m beginning to think we should have stayed on hiatus.

Hello and welcome to the January 15th edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network, bringing you Disney news you won’t believe…..and probably shouldn’t. Hope you had a great holiday season and are having a awesome 2016. I’m Parker Byrd.
ERIN:
And I’m Erin Dole...
Back in November, Disney began renaming the parking lots that surround the newly renovated and renamed Disney Springs. As an homage to Florida’s Fruit industry the parking lots all bear the names of Florida grown fruits. Starting with the parking lot on the far side of Disney Springs’ West Side section, the names are, in order: strawberry, watermelon, grapefruit, mango, orange, lime and lemon.
While the names are certainly easier to remember, in at least one case, the change has created quite a headache. Prior to the change, the lot outside of the Marketplace section of Disney Springs was quite full. But following the change the lot soon became empty and abandoned. This is likely due to the fact that guests believe it is bad luck to park their cars in a Lemon Parking Lot.
PARKER:
I wonder why they don’t change the name to clementine.
(singing)
Oh my Darlin...oh my Darlin….
ERIN: Parker!
PARKER: Yes Erin?
ERIN: You just answered your own question.
PARKER: Everybody’s a critic…..
On December 4th, a set of Animatronic figures returned to Walt Disney World after being gone for 35 years! The figures, representing the Three Caballeros, Panchito Pistoles, José Carioca, and Donald Duck, originally debuted at Walt Disney World on its opening day, October 1st, 1971, as part of the Mickey Mouse Review. They left there in September of 1980 when the show was moved to the new Tokyo Disneyland for its opening day and remained there until 2009.
The traveling trio actually came back to Florida a few years ago appearing at D23’s Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th event in 2011.
But now the three caballeros animatronics are appearing in public once again as they have become part of the finale of the “Grand Fiesta Tour” attraction in the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase.
Now we asked each of the Caballeros how they felt about the return of the animatronics to Walt Disney World. Panchito, whose full name is Panchito Romero Miguel Junipero Francisco Quintero González...the third.. said that being Mexican he is overjoyed at being such an integral part of an attraction that features his home country. Brazilian Jose parroted Panchito’s excitement, though he did want to remind people that the three of them have actually been an integral part to the attraction since 2007. But he noted that the addition of their animatronics made the attraction feel complete.
Donald, however, said that he is just excited that the Frozen ride is opening soon. He thinks having Elsa for a neighbor will be...really cool.
ERIN: Parker, I do believe he DUCKED the question.
In other news, late last year Disney increased the capacity of the Orange Team ride on Mission Space in EPCOT. Mission space has two types of rides, green and orange. Both take you through the same presentation and general motions, but the Orange ride has the added intensity of cars spinning to simulate the G-forces one would encounter on a trip to Mars.
There are four ride bays in Mission Space. Prior to the change two sides were utilized for Green rides and two for Orange. But now Orange rides will take up three of the bays leaving just one for the green rides.
While this modification puts Disney in a better position to handle demand, it has unwittingly sparked a critical industry-wide shortage of air sickness bags…

PARKER:
Welcome back to ENN, the Ears News Network.
Back in November Disney Pixar released one of what is sure to be several trailers promoting the upcoming film, Finding Dory, which is set to be released on June 17th, 2016.
In the trailer, Dory seems to flirt with getting pieces of her memory back. It appears that she remembers having a family and Nemo and Marlin join her in trying to find them.
Now unconfirmed rumors say the opening could be delayed as Pixar is desperately trying to enhance their audience interaction technology. It seems the movie’s star, Ellen Degeneres insists the movie must open with Dory out among the audience…...dancing.
ERIN: Dancing in the audience (amused). I have got to admit, that was a pretty good story Parker. You agree?
PARKER: Who?
ERIN: You.
PARKER: What?
ERIN: Agree that was good?
PARKER: Where?
ERIN: in the story
PARKER: When?
ERIN: Ok Parker. I get it! You are doing your lame impression of John Travolta as Vinnie Barberino in that old TV show “Welcome Back Kotter”.
PARKER: Yeah….Love that one
ERIN: Really Parker! This is NEWS show...get it...NEWS. There is absolutely NO PLACE in this show
for talking about some piece of entertainment dreamed up way back in the 70’s!
ERIN: Good news for Star Wars Fans..
PARKER: Um Erin….
ERIN: Shut it! Over in Disneyland, the Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant has been been converted to the Galactic Grill during the Season of the Force events.
The Galactic Grill serves a bunch of items with Star Wars inspired names. For example during breakfast you can get items like:
For lunch and dinner, some of the entrees include:
Desserts include:
But ENN has discovered, that like any great restaurant these days, the Galactic Grill has a “secret menu”. These are dishes fans will just have to know the name of if they want to order them. This menu includes entrees like:
It also includes some specialty drinks like:
The Galactic Grill is scheduled to be there throughout the Season of the Force event. But who knows. The force might be strong in this one.
PARKER:
And finally, at the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party held on December 11th of this year, Guest Services Cast Member Holly Ann Deivy was working in the lobby of City Hall on Main Street. At 10:45 that evening, right in the middle of “Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade”, a young boy wandered in. Holly Ann noticed that he was clearly upset.
Assuming he had gotten separated from his parents, she approached him calmly and asked him “Sweet Prince, is there something I can do for you?”
He quickly pleaded with her. “Yes...please! I don’t know where else to look?”
“Don’t worry Prince. “ Holly replied reassuringly, “ We will find your King and Queen!”.
“My what?” said the boy, clearly confused.
“Your parents.” Holly explained, “I will help you find your parents”.
“No need.” replied the boy, “They are right outside, watching the parade.”
Holly, now confused herself, asked the boy “I don’t understand….what do you need help looking for.”
“The candy bar drawings!” he excitedly replied, “I can’t find them”.
“The candy bar drawings?” inquired Holly.
“Yes.” said the boy, “You know...the drawings of the candy bar.”
Holly, having often in the past had to try to decipher obscure questions from guests, thought about it for a minute. She quickly ran through an inventory in her head of all the merchandise she had seen in the stores and even through the list of special merchandise for the event. But she could not come up with anything that was even remotely similar to a drawing of a candy bar.
After a few moments she shook her head sadly at the boy and said “I’m sorry my Royal Prince, I don’t believe we have any drawings of a candy bar anywhere in the kingdom.”
The boy began to tear up. “What a horrible party this turned out to be!”
Holly’s heart ached for the boy, so she tried to turn things around. “But my dear Prince, how can you say such a thing? Look out there. Beautiful decorations, toy soldiers marching by as we speak. Great Christmas music everywhere you go! Santa right next door….and wonderful, magical snowfall on Main Street! What more could you ask for?”
The boy looked Holly straight in the eye. “Yes….I suppose those are really cool things. But ever since my parents told me two months ago that we were coming to this party there was only two things I wanted!”
“What were those?” asked Holly curiously.
Before bursting into tears the boy managed to finally choke out, “Hot chocolate…..and a Snicker’s Doodle!”
