Kate Winslet is one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation: fact. With that in mind, how will The Brothers Wilson screw up / trivialize their analysis of one of the most famous people to come out of Berkshire, England? The film choices certainly stack up: starting with Winslet's Oscar win for the post-World War II drama The Reader, proceeding on to her breakthrough role as Marianne Dashwood in Emma Thompson's 1995 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, and then as the female lead in a little film known as Titanic. The always razor-sharp analysis involves Alan Rickman impressions, a timely reference to Divine Brown, and a failure on both hosts to say the word "admirable". This episode also marks the debut appearances of Ralph Fiennes, Ioan Gruffudd, and Billy "Slam Evil" Zane, whilst the actor Greg Wise is mocked for being a minor celebrity. And if you think this episode is ending on a Celine Dion song, you're only partly correct.

What if I told you that you weren't reading these show notes right now? Think I'm crazy? Well, maybe I'm just crazy enough to broadcast these notes and this podcast into your mind! Or not. Whatever. Jeez. Anyway. This week, Chris and Desmond dive into the character actor-laden psychic thriller The Fury. Then Desmond goes solo on another character actor-laden psychic thriller: Firestarter. Enjoy. I'll even beam some tunes right into your brain: "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" by Blue Oyster Cult, "Learn to Bleed" by Doyle, "Eyes Ripping Fire" by Danzig, and "Play with Fire" by Cobra Verde. As we round out the month, Mike sits down to read through the Previews catalog.

This week, Desmond may have lost the original episode slated for this week, but that didn't stop him from working harder and producing another one for your listening pleasure. This episode is based around investigative horror. First, Duane and Desmond review The Quiet Ones, where a group of scholars conduct an experiment on a troubled young girl. Then, Devil Dinosaur Jr. gives us a Stay Scary on The Appointment, where a malevolent force preys upon a family. Then Desmond presents a Dread Media Top Five on fun, weird, investigative pulp horror across all media. Then, of course there's music: "The Experiment" by Prometheon, "Cum on Feel the Noize" by Slade, "My Girl" by Madness, "Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion" by Fantomas, and "World Gone Mad" by Life of Agony. Dave and Ian bring their viewing of Star Cops to a close with the last three episodes. In "A Double Life," the frozen embryos of a rich and powerful woman are stolen from the new Moonbase hospital facility, and the prime suspect has a perfect alibi. In "Other People's Secrets," David shadows the Moonbase's chief engineer to see if he is a saboteur, and the team are analyzed by a psychiatrist who also happens to be Devis' ex-wife. Finally, in "Little Green Men and Other Martians," two reporters arrive on Moonbase amid rumors of an amazing discovery on Mars, which someone is willing to kill for. They also go over the show as a whole, name their series MVPs, and Statistician Ian institutes a new approach for the next show to be covered.

Ian Wilson returns to introduce a previously unreleased comic book movie review between him, Dave Probert, and Jim Moon, with the English trio looking at League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. There are also updates as to the current status of Comic Reel-lief and For Your Ears Only.
