Earth-2.net Presents...

Remember when I told you I'd podcast you last? I lied! This week Desmond and Darryll sit through a gory action double feature extravaganza across the ages. First up, the bizarre 1980 revenge-driven vigilante piece The Exterminator. Then 2009's Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren vehicle, Universal Soldier: Regeneration! These songs will get you in the mood for carnage: "Opening Titles (The Exterminator)" by Joe Renzetti, "Exterminate!" by Amen, "New Model No. 15" by Marilyn Manson, and "Punishment" by Biohazard. You thought the Tool discography was all a lovefest, didn't you? Even with a lukewarm reaction to the first EP, the guys were full of praise. This time, everything changes. As they slog their way through the audio disc that was part of Tool's Salival boxset, the guys make fun of young people a lot. Desmond bemoans the length of almost every song. But, most controversially, Damien makes a statement so harsh, Indian percussionists may never listen to this show again. Because of said statement, Desmond would like to take the show notes to let the ACLU know that he is Canadian, and regardless of what horrific and inflammatory remarks Damien makes, Desmond has diplomatic immunity. Or something. Plus, tips for navigating automated operators! Send all thoughts and comments on Tool and Dropped D to: [email protected], or 410.871.8192.

Episode 13 is finally here! Why is Preston singing R. Kelly songs, and what does it have to do with Willow? Why are they watching an episode of Scooby-Doo? What conclusion does Hannah come to about a fellow Earth-2.net cohost? And why the hell are they up so early? Join The Heroes as they cover "Consequences," "Doppelgangland," "Enemies," and "Earshot."

For this edition of the Tirades, the guys are sinking it from the free throw line to bring you a review of Kazaam, a movie that they somehow all watched despite none of them wanting to take the blame for choosing it. What follows is two hours of audio that includes Shaq rhyming, a Barton Fink reference, the guys losing interest about halfway through and just browsing IMDB for a while, and Damien's poetry writing debut.

It's October, which means The Boys Outta Brooklyn once more sits down with their Brother From the North, Des "Dread Media" Reddick, to discuss another six-pack of Obscure Horror Films designed to spice up your Halloween marathons! Tom, Derrick, and Des put the spotlight on werewolves and maniacs, with films set in the Old West, Feudal Japan, a fairy tale forest, and a British boarding school. Plus, oysters, monkeys, and most importantly, The Werewolf Break! You know one of us is a beast, so get to clicking!

After suffering through nine episodes of Blue Drop, the final four ("Cirsium," "Thoroughwort," "Cosmos," and "Rosmarinus") finally break Kellen and James. The guys throw the format out, Kellen begins to apologize to anyone who's seen this show, and James eventually starts drinking as the two deliver some of the angriest rants in the history of the Earth-2.net family of podcasts. Also, Kellen makes an announcement about a future episode.

In this huge episode of Dread Media, Desmond interviews writers Colin Bryan and Emily Kieson who are raising money to produce their graphic novel 86 Plots through Kickstarter. Then Desmond and Darryll check out the latest Takashi Miike release, 13 Assassins. And just when you thought everything was going to have a number in the title this week, Desmond goes solo on a review of Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf. Songs on offer this week: "Dirt on the Grave" by Black Label Society, "Thirteen" by Johnny Cash, "Swordmaster" by 3 Inches of Blood, "Killer Wolf" by Danzig, and "Grave Diggers" by The Creepshow.
