Earth-2.net Presents...

It's time for another edition of Saturday Morning 101 with Dan and Jonathan. This time around they analyze Freakazoid!, the cult classic cartoon created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini!

Put on yer Powers Boothe mask and take yer shirt off! Hunker down with Desmond and Darryll as they take in the Southern Gothic Bill Paxton masterpiece Frailty. Then Desmond goes solo on the woman-centered Canadian film Stained. The following tunes get a spin as well: "Hand of God" by The 69 Eyes featuring Ville Valo, "Peace in the Valley" by Johnny Cash, "Blood Stained" by Judas Priest, and "The Day the Earth Caught Fire" by The Misfits. This month, the guys take in a viewing of Showgirls. What could possibly be better than a two-and-a-half-hour movie that somehow manages to make naked women boring? How about a three-hour podcast trying to talk about it. It goes about as well as you'd expect. Be excited. Be scared.

Thanks to the events of Flashpoint, the post-Crisis DC Universe is dead. From its ashes rises the DCnU: a younger, forever-changed world! To herald in this momentous moment, DC Comics launched Justice League, the first in a wave of 52 brand new comic books. What did Mike think about Flashpoint #1-5 and Justice League #1, and what does he have to say about the risk DC is taking? There's only one way to find out!

ARGH! The guys are angry this episode, revealing their top five things they never want to see in gaming again. But that's not all! We also have Aaron doing Ron Jeremy impressions, boxes full of dreams, and a good old fashioned Damien rant.

Episode 11 stumbles into town, and there are crazy bitches, demons, lovesick vampires, and unspeakable evils walking about. Is the Glove of Lagos the Powerglove or the Orgasmoglove, and why is it so baaaaad? Which three characters show up unexpectedly? How sexy is Doppelganger Willow? What does the magic of snow Jesus Christmas have to do with anything? And which of these episodes ranks as a consistent top five of Buffy for both Preston and Hannah? Plus, Will Ackerman makes a guest appearance, and he can't slow this bus down, otherwise he's gonna die. Listen to The Heroes cover "Revelations," "Lovers Walk," "The Wish," and "Amends." Also, the Zeppoes cover Speed. And just remember: we did it our waaaaaaaaay!

Closing out his look at the final post-Crisis DC comic books, Mike talks about Batman: Gates of Gotham #5, Batman: The Dark Knight #5, Batman, Inc. #8, Brightest Day Aftermath: The Search for Swamp Thing #3, Gotham City Sirens #26, Green Arrow #15, Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #13, Justice Society of America #54, Teen Titans #100, Wonder Woman #614, Xombi #6, and Action Comics #904.

Dread Reel-ief is back! And the Commonwealth Crew have the daunting task of reviewing the film based on Todd McFarlane's popular comic from the 1990s: Spawn. What do the boys think about it? Ian had to get drunk to review it. Oh yeah, and the world may end before the review is over. There's high stakes, people! Send feedback to: [email protected], or 206.203.1213. In this episode, Desmond gets drunk and stares at hot Swedish women. One hot Swedish woman in particular: the gorgeous Christina Lindberg. But it's not creepy, because he's joined by DW, right? Anyway, the guys review the classic exploitation flick Thriller: A Cruel Picture. Then Desmond goes solo on Wide Open. Non-Swedish music by: "Stickin' In My Eye" by NOFX, "Thriller" by Aereogramme, "Open Door" by Pennywise, and "Around the Fur" by Deftones. Send feedback to: [email protected], or 206.203.1213. It has begun! Join Des and DW on their modern rock odyssey to go in-depth on their favorite bands, album-by-album, track-by-track. Up first is Tool, the masters of art-rock / prog-metal. The album: Opiate, their 1992 EP. Hear the boys dissect this less-than-stellar debut by referencing French brothels, bands they have fought and will fight, Yngwie Malmsteen, and more. It'll blow your face right off. Send all thoughts and comments on Tool and Dropped D to: [email protected], or 410.871.8192.
