Earth-2.net Presents...

This week Desmond and Darryll cover the sleazy 70s horror flick The Toolbox Murders, while Desmond goes solo in this edition of So Bad it's Good? on the straight-to-DVD, uhm, sleazy horror flick The Backlot Murders. Feedback, tunes, and plugs aplenty. Tunes include: "Dead in Hollywood" by The Murderdolls, "Stinkfist" by Tool, "Whatever Happened to Corey Haim" by The Thrills, and "We Hate Everyone" by Type O Negative. Send feedback to: [email protected], or 206.203.1263.

Is America getting its own Torchwood series? Dan and Mike address the rumor before covering the excellent seven-part "Doctor Who and the Silurians."

In this inaugural episode of Married to Movies, Desmond and Megan review 2008's estrogen-laced ensemble piece The Women. What the hell happened to Annette Bening? Can Meg Ryan still act if she can't change her facial expressions? Can Eva Mendes in lingerie not be sexy? And where did all the men go? All these questions and more are answered inside. Join us in unholy movie matrimony. Send questions, comments, and requests to: [email protected] and 206.338.3774.

While reviewing Casanova #1, Fell #1, The Goon #1, Thunderbolts #1, Ultimate Spider-Man #1, and Wonder Woman #14, Des and Mike suffer traumatic Countdown flashbacks. Also, Mike rants about Nazis, and Des is inspired to create a new exploitation film series.

After a brief update, Mike puts out two calls for help. Make sure to vote for World's Finest Podcast in the Fourth Annual Earth-2.net Awards (http://www.earth-2.net/awards-09), and, if you can, donate to the World's Finest Podcast Needs New Equipment Fund (http://www.earth-2.net/donations).

First Dan and Mike cover three trade paperbacks (Human Target: Chance Meetings, Wolverine First Class: Class Actions, and Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis - Once and Future), then Ian Wilson stops by to look at the comic book movies of 2009, 2010, and beyond!

In this fourth wall-breaking episode of Dread Media, Desmond and Darryll (and by default you) take a look at the controversial Michael Haneke film Funny Games. Then Desmond goes it alone on Stan Helsing, the new horror spoof film from those who brought you Scary Movie. Also, Richard from Wichita and Desmond have a back and forth on e-mail about Avatar, comics, and Asian horror. Tunes include: "My Wall" by Ten Foot Pole, "Hellraiser" by Naked City, "Funny" by Scars on Broadway, and "Chapter Four" by Avenged Sevenfold. RIP The Rev. By popular demand, your favorite cinematic jurists are back, and this time they've got New Jersey's own in their sights! Tom and Derrick evaluate the life and times of Kevin Smith, and try to determine if he is on the straight and narrow or walking down a potentially disastrous road. The Guys Outta Brooklyn defend the much-maligned Jersey Girl, talk about the hazard of making Jay and Silent Bob main characters, question whether Smith's relationship with Bob Weinstein helps or hurts him, and look at other issues. Plus, the first and maybe only BITD discussion on religion, and now waaaaaaaaay outdated speculation on Spider-Man 4. It's better than a stink palm, so get to clicking!

Afro Samurai, Naruto, Azumanga Daioh, Gantz, Bleach, Witch Hunter Robin, and Gurren Lagann. These are just some of the great anime that failed to garner a vote on the ballots of Animezing Podcast's Top 11 Anime of the Decade. Find out what did get votes, and what the gang voted as the best of the decade.

It's all about body parts this week as Darryll and Desmond watch the original Pang Brothers film, The Eye. Then Desmond smells, I mean, reviews Jeff Strand's novella The Severed Nose. Check out Movies About Girls at www.moviesaboutgirls.com, and make sure to vote for Dread Media in the Earth-2.net Mainpage Awards. Or I'll cut your nose off! Tunes include: "Electric Eye" by Judas Priest, "Caught My Eye" by Danzig, "Nosebleed" by the Deftones, and "Witchdoctor" by Clutch. Send feedback to: [email protected], or 206.203.1243.
