Earth-2.net Presents...

Of the five mostly excellent books this week (Franklin Richards: Monster Mash #1, Marvel Adventures Iron Man # 5, Punisher MAX Annual #1, Ultimate Spider-Man #114 and X-Men #203), two honestly shocked Des and Mike with their greatness!

In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick - battling the plague - presents two interviews with contributors to Rue Morgue Magazine. Stuart Feedback Andrews (documentary filmmaker, film critic and horror journalist) and Chris Alexander (composer, film critic, horror journalist and pugilist) are free-flowing in conversations ranging from Michael Moore to Ennio Morricone. More importantly, they talk about punching Uwe Boll, and filming it! Songs included are: "London Dungeon" by Prong, "Organ Grinder" by Chris Alexander and "The Untouchables Main Theme" by Ennio Morricone.

"The angels are coming for you. But listen: your life could depend on this. Don't blink. Don't even blink! Blink and you're dead! They are fast! Faster than you can believe! Don't turn your back! Don't look away! And don't blink! Good luck." That's right, we're talking about "Blink," the awesomely wonderful episode of Doctor Who.

Though they only review three episodes of Batman: The Animated Series this time around, James and Mike hardly have a light week. First there's an inbox full of e-mails to read, then they cover "Harley and Ivy" (in which Batman should have died), "Shadow of the Bat" (in which the rumors about the Dynamic Duo are confirmed) and "Blind as a Bat" (in which Tony Stark could have stood in for Bruce Wayne).

In last week's Is It Wednesday Yet? Des and Mike didn't quite agree. This week the pair reviews Captain America #30, Marvel Comics Presents #1, New X-Men #42, Penance: Relentless #1 and Terror, Inc. #2. Are things any different this time around?

In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick unleashes Dying in the Gutters, a new segment of which he only names during the show! Spoiler-free reviews of horror comics abound in this cavalcade of cracking voices. BOOM! Studios, Devil's Due, Dark Horse... are any publishers free from his wrath? Well, these three are, because they do good stuff. Tunes include "A Marine Biologist" by The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, "Setting Fire to Sleep" by The Dillinger Escape Plan and "Scream!" by The Misfits with Michale Graves on vocals. Des and Mike go through five issues of Countdown this month (39, 38, 37, 36 and 35), pointing out the good, the bad and the ugly along the way. Oh, and Des was right about... ah, that would be telling!

Jenny and Mike share some laughs over Confessions of a Blabbermouth, a brand new graphic novel by the DC Comics imprint Minx. They then briefly wonder how they acted as college freshmen. Mike offers a sincere apology to horror podcasters. And then the duo reviews Rob Zombie's Halloween.

In previous installments of Is It Wednesday Yet?, Des and Mike have pretty much seen eye to eye, this week all that changes. Which books couldn't they come to terms on? Well, here's the list to choose from: Cyblade Pilot Season #1, New Avengers #34, Nova #6, Parade (with Fireworks) #1 and Thor #3.

In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick interviews John A. Russo, co-screenwriter of Night of the Living Dead. He also chatted with the guys from VLE Comics, publishers of the awesome miniseries Nightwolf: The Price. Plus: tunes from American Werewolves and Ghoultown. Email Des at: [email protected].
