And, of course, we play a bunch of songs from Desmond's favorite records of the year. So, strap in for three-plus hours of nerdy BSing. Send feedback to: [email protected]. Did someone say Dame O'clock? No? Well, either way, Maggie Smith is The Brothers Wilson's final subject in The Year of Redux. This time, they delve more into her early work that brought her acclaim and awards in the form of problematic Shakespeare adaption Othello, her Oscar-winning performance in the multi-story showcase California Suite, and one of her high-profile later-life turns in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Along the way, The Brothers discuss just how far a black-face performance impacts a critically acclaimed piece, get their Errols mixed up, and prepare for their upcoming 2024 recap episode. Skyler and Will rock around the Christmas tree with the Christmas movie / special Twas the Night Before Bumpy. In addition to talking about the difficulties of production when doing claymation, they also discuss Canadian broadcasting, cartoon bumpers, and peanut butter lyrics.

This year, the Christmas cheer is at a minimum when Desmond and Duane review the grief-stricken Christmas holiday at The Lodge. Then, Des goes solo on reviews of Silent Night and A Creature Was Stirring. Creepy carols: "X-Mas Has Been X'ed" by NOFX, "Dead Christmas" by Monster Magnet, "Christmas Sucks" by Tom Waits & Peter Murphy, and "Silent Night, Deadly Night (acoustic)" by The Browns. Before concluding the podcast's main run, Christian and Emma analyze Wish - Walt Disney Animation Studio's cinematic celebration of its 100th birthday - featuring Anita, Captain Kirk, a goat voiced by Clayface, and numerous nods to previous Disney films. What could possibly go wrong?

The holidays are known for three things: peace on Earth, good will toward men, and werecats. In that vein, the Borg Queen, Glenn Shadix, and Clovis the Very Good Cat combine to distract you from the extremely icky center of the Tootsie Pop that is 1992's Stephen King's Sleepwalkers. After that, we revisit the golden days of RKO Radio Pictures with quite possibly the very worst person ever presented to moviegoing audiences as a sympathetic protagonist, but at least it looks pretty good. That's 1942's Cat People!

This week, Desmond and Duane look back into Douglas Buck's career with his haunting, troubling, extreme, and beautiful short films Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America. You won't find any quiet pastoral suburban nightmares there! Songs included: "We Destroy the Family" by Fear, "The Great American Family Dysfunction" by The Full Moon Renegades, "Bad Advice" by Peach Pit, and "The Rich Man" by Roadrunner United (feat. Corey Taylor). Send feedback to: [email protected]. Follow @DevilDinosaurJr and @dreadmedia on Twitter! Join the Facebook group! Support the show at www.patreon.com/dreadmedia. This week, Desmond and Tom check out the absolutely insane Highway to Hell. Then, Des goes solo on a Dread Media Top 5 Insane Genre Films from 1991.
