Karlovy Vary is a spa town situated in western Bohemia, Czech Republic, on the confluence of the rivers Ohře and Teplá, approximately 130 km west of Prague. It is named after Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia, who founded the city in 1370. It is the site of numerous hot springs (13 main springs, about 300 smaller springs, and the warm-water Teplá River), and is the most visited spa town in the Czech Republic. 

Until 1945, when the German-speaking inhabitants were expelled, the town was overwhelmingly German speaking for most of its history.

Walking at Prague, the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic, the 14th largest city in the European Union and the historical capital of Bohemia. This walk starts at Prague National Museum, via the Old City ending at Charles bridge. 

Main attractions of Prague include Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with the Prague astronomical clock, the Jewish Quarter, Petřín hill and Vyšehrad. Since 1992, the extensive historic center of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Walking at Portaria village, Pilio mountain. Centaur’s Path in Portaria village is a hidden gem in Pelion, definitely worth visiting.

According to Greek Mythology, Centaurs were hybrid beasts (half humans and half horses) that used to live on Mount Pelion. In Ancient Greek Literature they are related to all the negative natural phenomena, such as sudden climate changes or any unexpected weather conditions.  They are depicted as lunatic, impulsive creatures and they are usually accused of causing many destructions to humans.

By following Centaur’s Path, you have the chance to admire some of the most impressive sights of the area, let alone the splendid nature that makes this place look like a paradise on Earth! It is divided into two parts. The first one leads to the center of the village, while the second one guides you to its exit. The path is marked with red circles on stones, so as not to deviate from it. There is also a fountain with drinking water and some benches for you to rest before continuing your journey. This walk is just the first part.

Walking in snow at Parnassos mountain. Located at the center of Greece, Parnassus is one of the biggest and most beautiful mountains of the country. Its highest part is Liakoura peak at 2.457 m. and Tsarkos (2.415 m.) and Gerontovrahos (2.389 m.) peaks follow. Mount Parnassus is a great area which extends to the municipalities of Boeotia, Phthiotis and Phocis.  

Since 1938 a big part of the forest area of the mountain, has been declared as a National Park, which along with the one on Olympus were the first ones that were established in Greece. The Mountain of Apollo, as it also called, is known from the ancient times, as there are many myths connected to it.  

According to Greek mythology, the mountain took its name from the hero Parnassus, who had built on the mountain a city that was ruined by Deucalion’s flood. Then, the citizens of the city, following the wolves’ howling, were led up the mountain slope in order to save themselves from the flood, where they built a new city that they named Lykoreia, which means the howling of the wolves.  

Parnassus is a unique and special place, a wildlife shelter, while on its ground many endemic plants grow such as the Parnassian peony.

Walking at Vlychada beach,  located on the south coast of Santorini, 13 kilometers from Fira (center os the island). It stands out for the overwhelming carved cliffs that resemble a sculptor’s work but is, in fact, a natural process owed to the volcano, the wind and the sea. It is a lengthy beach with relatively shallow waters and dark volcanic sand and pebbles, like most beaches in Santorini. Not that crowded, you can spend many relaxing hours here and cherish the spectacular sight all around. Enjoy nature sounds by the beach, wave sounds walking in the beach.
