Mike Doolittle was a member of a National Championship Harvard crew team. He is a photographer, writer and business consultant. Over the past couple of years Mike has been working on a book that explores the relationship between our American colleges and sports. As a former varsity college athlete myself, and a coach, we have had more than a few conversations over a beer or two about this weird, odd relationship that our educational system has with athletics, something unlike anywhere else in the world. Do we want this to continue? Should it? And why? All good questions that we might consider. Mike and I discuss this and more.

Welcome to Earth+30, a podcast that explores and asks questions about the future of the world. What are we doing about the future? Who has a plan? What is the strategy? Are there 7.45 Billion strategies and plans? Does it make sense to have a vision, however messy? There are many problems and many efforts at finding solutions. Do we trust governments? Leaders? Which ones? And for how long? Do you trust multi-national corporations to lead us to a better, safer, more humane place? Non-profits? Or do we follow the Marx Brothers, "one for all, all for one, and every man (or woman) for them self. Join me as I talk to initiators, generators, leaders, thinkers, and people who care about our future. I think, and hope, you will find it more than interesting, but inspiring to learn how much is happening and how you can get involved.
