Prophetic profile:

1. The Melchizedek mystery.

He was a type of Christ, not an early appearance of Jesus.

He was a king and priest, as Jesus would be.

2. The divine promise.

Perfection means the completion of God's plan of salvation.

The law was weak in that it could not save or bring about inward change.

3. The permanent priesthood.

Jesus lives forever as the holy one.

Jesus saves completely!

We Hear God through a body-soul-mind relationship with God.

Important aspects of a heartfelt relationship with God:

1. Learn to listen.

2. Consistent to listen.

Experience God as you listen.

Jesus uses a story to state what is important to hear.

1. Two lives.

2. Two destinations.

3. Two requests.

4. Two understandings.

Remaining steadfast in God's grace and hope:

1. the caution not to fall away.

2. The conviction to stand firm.

3. The consistent hope we have is backed up by God's promises.

4. The confident hope we have is secure in Christ.

Lessons learned from Gideon, Part 2:

1. Gideon's fleece demonstrated his lack of trusting God.

2. Gideon tested God, the God tested Gideon.

3. Gideon heard God and experienced victory.

Six specific spiritual truths we must understand:

1. Repentance from acts that lead to death.

2. Faith in God.

3. Instruction about baptisms.

4. The laying on of hands.

5. The resurrection of the dead.

6. Eternal judgment.

We are called to progress in maturity.

1. When maturity stops, we regress.

2. Maturity requires one to chew.

3. Maturity is a journey, not a destination.

Things we see from Elijah's experience:

1. He fell into self-doubt.

2. He tried to put God in a box.

3. He felt God's conviction.

God's Response:

1. He questions our action.

2. He demonstrates His multiplicity.

3. He will reignite your purpose.

Our Priestly Duties:

1. To represent the people.

2. To offer gifts and worship.

3. To deal gently with people.

4. To keep oneself cleansed.

5. To serve humbly.

6. To pray faithfully.

God is speaking to individuals and the church:

1. Don't refuse to listen.

2. Don't refuse to believe.

3. Don't refuse His command.

Three truths about God's Word:

1. The nature of God's Word - The Word is alive.

2. The power of God's Word - Penetrates the soul and spirit.

3. The accountability of God's Word - In the past and future.

Three factors about our High Priest:

1. The exemplary character of our High Priest.

2. The compassion of our High Priest.

3. The confident call of our High Priest.
