God had told Israel that because of their idolatry he would no longer be in their midst as they traveled to Canaan. This was in spite of their repentance, showing us how bad God views idolatry. However, Moses was going to plead on Israel's behalf yet again. What did he ask God to do? In Lesson 133 of our study of Exodus we learn the answer to this question.

What we were studying was what some of the issues are that children would face when returning to school (evolution, one religion is as good as another, homosexuality & transgenderism, along with peer pressure). This lesson is also good for adults, as they face these things in the workplace. We encourage you to study along with us.

Moses, having come down from Mount Sinai, and seeing Israel had gone off into idolatry, had some bad news for them: yes, they would still get to go to the promised land, but even though they repented, God wouldn't travel in their midst. So serious was God's view of idolatry, that Moses set up a tabernacle outside the camp. What tabernacle was this, and what did he do there? In Lesson 132 of our study of Exodus we learn the answer to this question.

In chapter 33, God told Israel that he would not travel in their midst as they traveled to Canaan. Why would he not do this? In Lesson 131 of our study of Exodus we learn the answer to this question.

Moses desperately wanted God to forgive Israel of their sin of idolatry. He so wanted God to be with them. But he understood that God was a God of justice as well as a God of mercy. So, in pleading to God, Moses recognized that God may not forgive Israel's sin. If he wouldn't Moses requested that God do something else. What did he ask? In Lesson 130 of our study of Exodus we learn the answer to this question.
