Unfortunately, many people in the church today have the mistaken idea that being like the world is the way to reach the world. They forget that the church is the people of God, a very special people, saved by His grace. Instead of maintaining separation (2 Cor. 6:14–7:1) they promote imitation (1 John 2:15–17; Rom. 12:2), so that it’s becoming more and more difficult to distinguish the people of God from the people of the world. And yet, as Campbell Morgan reminded us, “The church did the most for the world when the church was the least like the world.”

It is extremely important that if you hear the voice of God, you do not say no – hearing the voice of God means being convicted by the Holy Spirit through the preaching and reading of the word that you need Christ, you need forgiveness, you are the sinner, you have sinned against God, and that you are at enmity with God because of your sin. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not here. We have today. Death is coming, we just don’t know when; there is no guarantee of tomorrow. There is something more pressing than physical death – all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Every human has the sentence of death. Salvation isn’t just head knowledge. James says even the demons believe and shudder. In Hebrews 3:7, as the Holy Spirit says; the writer of Hebrews regarded Scripture as being the voice of God. 2 Tim 3:16 says all Scripture is God-breathed. 1 & 2 Timothy states men wrote as God moved and led. We must trust and obey. Hebrews 3:7 as Holy Spirit says – those who are now reading or hearing the word TODAY, this is God’s word. God is speaking of salvation, repentance and belief. In Hebrews 3:13 and 3:15 and 4:7 it is pressing -- TODAY. The urgency is not impending (physical) death but the condition of your heart. It is hardened if you say no and tomorrow it will be a little further hardened and even easier to say no. What is your choice TODAY?

Are you saved? Statistics say generally, only about 20% of those who go to church are true genuine believers. The scripture says, “How shall we neglect so great a salvation?” What are we being saved from? The wrath of God. There is an urgency clearly laid out in Scripture. Hebrews 3:7 – “Today, if you hear his voice. Hebrews 3:15 – Today. Hebrews 4:7 – Today. Hebrews 2:2 says every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty. 2 Corinthians 13:5 asks us to test ourselves to see if we are genuinely in the faith. Look at the priorities in your life. Test yourself in light of Scripture. Come to Jesus, accept Him as your Lord and Savior, with a heart of repentance, be saved, today. Nothing else matters for eternity.

A lukewarm heart is one that does not despise God, but does not love God. A lukewarm heart is one that is actually sentimental towards Him, but ignorantly chooses to be in control of their own lives. In time, the lukewarm heart will be damned for their lack of a real saving faith. You must examine yourself to see if you truly desire God and aren’t just going through the motions. Are you lukewarm? He extends grace to those who repent and embrace Him as Lord and Savior!

Moses was a man marked by great faith. A man that was faced with something that I believe we can all relate to. He was a fairly normal guy who was used by God to do phenomenal things. He was faced with things that we can relate to, and what we’ll find is that he made decisions that were God-honoring. Why? Because he had faith! Not every Saint is called to build an ark, or threatened with a fiery furnace... not all are compelled to leave a palace to live with the downcast, but every Believer is marked by the supernatural - and that mark is faith.
