1. Are there things about the presence and power of God that frighten or sober you, and to which you sinfully respond by either trying to avoid him or somehow lessen the impact of your accountability to him?
2. What positions, possessions or privileges that you enjoy are threatened by Jesus’ command to yield complete allegiance to him?
3. Like the Sadducees and Pharisees, are you better at studying the Bible than submitting to it? What features of its teaching do you diminish or even ignore to ward off its demands upon you?
4. When you are honest what questionable assumptions from culture, background and personal preferences negatively color your interpretation of Scripture?
5. How should the fact of the resurrection of the body affect the way we think about our lives now and how we live them? Why?
