We are thankful for the resurrection, but there would be no resurrection without first the death on the cross. Jesus paid it all on the cross so we could have life eternal with Him in Heaven. This is the essence of the Gospel. "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
