God designed us for communion—not only with Him, but with one another—and community is not an optional addition to the Christian life; it is part of who we are as the Body of Christ. Each of us has been uniquely created and carries something from God that is meant to encourage, strengthen, sharpen, and help meet the needs of others. Though authentic community requires intentionality, humility, patience, forgiveness, and perseverance, it is one of the ways God shapes us to look more like Jesus and teaches us to carry one another’s burdens. We pray that as we move forward together, may our love for God be expressed through our love for people, creating a community that reflects His heart, His nature, and His presence.

Discipleship is about cultivating a living relationship with Jesus—loving Him, serving Him, and learning to talk and listen to Him through Scripture, prayer, worship, and His presence. We are called to cultivate the oil of intimacy that is fresh and current—we cannot live off of borrowed oil. As one piece of the Body of Christ, Bethel Church has specific apostolic and prophetic distinctions that we believe the Lord has called us to carry. As the global Body of Christ, the Lord has given different churches various functions that are unique to them. Bethel Church is simply one part of the global Church but it's important to realize that God has given us specific distinctions that we are called to. As this sermon is a continuation from the Kris Vallotton's previous messages in this series, he continues to expand upon the unique assignments we have as a house. As we believe that we are a royal priesthood, the posture in leading the congregation is to train them to release the kingdom everywhere they go. Because we believe that you become a priest in ministry as soon as you receive Christ, there is now no difference between what is sacred and secular in your life, everything becomes an expression of worship and ministry to the Lord. As our church is an apostolic and prophetic house, training and equipping the saints with deployment in mind is our emphasis. This looks like focusing on the five-fold ministry so that the body looks more like Christ by equipping the saints with discernment so that we are no longer deceived and sent out to reproduce the kingdom of God everywhere we go.
