Hosted by researcher, educator, and independent curator Dr. Sylvia Theuri, this roundtable event explored the creative process behind the exhibition Compensare: For the Swallows We Weigh. Artist Marley Starskey Butler; Charlotte Jenkins (CEO and Founder) and Peppy Hills (Senior Therapist) from Beacon Family Services; and movement artists Marley Starkey Joyner and Kim Bormann came together to reflect on how the work developed and the project’s themes, from the emotional, psychosocial, and political landscapes that shape family support, to the ways systemic forces interact with the lived experiences of families and the professionals who support them.
