Gavin Gold was born in Cape Town, South Africa. After high school he immersed himself in the Johannesburg music scene; writing, recording and performing at hundreds of venues nationwide. In the 1980’s he was guitarist and lead vocalist in the successful South African punk pop band, “Switchtalk”.In the early 1990's when apartheid was still in the air, he joined keyboardist, singer and producer Abe Sibiya to form a multi racial duo. Gavin Gold’s 2016 album release 'Neatness' and EP release 'World Upside Down launches were held at the popular Cape Town venue, The Alexander Theatre. Gavin Gold has recently relocated to New York City. He is currently writing songs with Off Broadway hit singer songwriter, Steve Schalchlin and is performing and growing his following.He also teamed up to form the geek rock band, “The Rebel Nerds” with multi instrumentalist Jake Adams and they are ready to resume playing live as soon as the covid coast is clear.

My home country of Venezuela as many of you may know, has been going through the worst political, socio-economic crisis in its history. The Venezuelan people have been subjected to the cruelest dictatorship in the history of Latin America that has resulted with the exodus of almost five million Venezuelans seeking new opportunities for themselves and their families abroad. .

For the longest time I’ve been wanting to interview Eduardo Lugo., the co-founder of SOS Venezuela NY. A brave and young Venezuelan activist seeking to bring awareness to the current situation in Venezuela. I Finally got to do it right before Xmas.

The Venezuelan case is complex and can’t be covered in just one hour conversation that’s for sure. But I do hope that my listeners can get a sense of the Venezuelan situation through this interview. and how it affects the entire American continent.

In 2010 my close friend Danilo Alvarez was on vacation with his ex-girlfriend Geraldine in Cali, Colombia. One night on their Colombian vacation the couple made a fateful decision that led to their kidnapping. Danilo shares with us this most unusual story that left him marked forever.

Kidnapping used to be common for guerrillas and criminals to extort people. ... At least 174 people were kidnapped in 2018, not even a fraction of the 3,600 victims of kidnapping made in the year 2000, whenColombia's armed conflict was at its most violent.

Matt is a keyboardist/guitar player/songwriter that is currently playing with iconic acts Blondie and Cindy Lauper both on tour and in the studio.  

Matt has also co-written hit songs for Blondie including “What I Heard” and “A Rose by Any Name”. He has also written for RuPaul, Raja, and Manila Luzon; other acts he's toured with include Boy George, Tony Bennett, Ashford and Simpson, Psychic TV, and Sharon Needles, as well as acting as Assistant Music Director for Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway and the Hedwig National US Tour.
