Well that just happened *cue audience laughter*, forgive me as it has been a rather tense week as we will be discussing the Sweet Baby inc. Steam Page situation as many are dupping this event as if it's a sequel to a movie from a certain well known vastly overrated “culture” collision that happened prior so it is important to take the necessary time to talk about this. Now as this I am sure is sensitive to many out there I ask you enter this with an open mind and try to check your assumptions at the door so we can try and talk kindly and thoughtful about this. Although I do not think this will be a problem with anyone interacting with this video as I have only had incredible experiences with you, the achievers, I think it should be said as this video could go out to people who do not regularly listen. Honestly the news was relatively light and I wanted the majority of the video discussing Sweet Baby inc. so apologies if you were looking for a break from the “discourse”, I will see you next week (lol). Anyways I wanted to come at this with an open mind and hopefully I was able to coherently display both sides and clearly explain the situation. Well then, We have a slower news week than usual however I think this gives us a chance to dig a little deeper into the topics that stand before us. Some news on Remedy gaining the rights to Control. EA games canceled the long reported Star Wars FPS game coming from Respawn. Some light rumors this week but nothing too insane. As for the main show, Rooster Teeth has shuttered as Warner Bros. shut down the 21 year studio after many years of not running profits. We do a roundup on Xbox’s Third Party showcase and then end the show on a light date update and then whats queued up. Emmett joins me again this week to discuss a HEAVY episode. We have some Sony financials to discuss, the Xbox business update, and a lot more. Hiroki Totoki, interim Head of PlayStation, has some straightforward and clear messaging about what he thinks about the PlayStation division. Xbox tells us how they are justifying going to a third party. And Switch 2 may have been delayed past this year. Finally we have some deep conversations around these topics like overspending in the games industry to the point many high profile games are afraid to start original and instead go for an adaption to help spike the initial sells and interest. Well we had a huge news outbreak didn't we? Rumors galore of Xbox moving to a multiplatform publishing route. Everything from Sea of Thieves to Halo to Gears of War. We were blessed with a State of Play and, well, we do not know Sony's 2024 anymore than we did before BUT we got a look at more of their partners filling in the unknown of this year with Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin. We got some compelling software shown for their seemingly soft sold PSVR2 in Legendary Tales and Metro Awakening. But if you ask me friend my game of the show is nearly tied but is given slightly to Judas, Ken Levine's return to games in a very long time. A close second being Death Stranding 2 a fascinating game that I frankly barely understand and that makes me so excited. Welcome back, although we do not have huge news to go over this week we have plenty to discuss. Rumors of the Halo BR game are now saying it was canceled. RockSteady co-founders have finally shown what they are doing and have opened a studio in London. An Until Dawn movie is being made strangely. I breakdown the Xbox Developer Direct and talk about what was shown there. Our big discussion this week is centered around Xbox as I see them as the biggest “deal” in gaming currently as they are making moves that could sculpt the industry for years to come if their bet pays off. This specific issue needs an entire video dedicated to it one day and I will eventually do that but I want someone on that episode so once I find someone I will do it.

Description

Insomniac was a victim of a large breach detailing much about the companies plans for the next decade plus and financials for many of their games and PlayStation’s. Unfortunately with that information came a lot of personal information of the employees at Insomniac. Let's first talk about the news of the leak, or breach as it probably should be called, which is pertinent to the show like the decade plus of releases we can expect from that as well as incredibly interesting sales data. I do want to be clear though, this is NOT meant to be a full deep dive into the leak, I will not be going over specifics to games like plot spoilers or specific lengths of the games, like the number of missions or anything similar to that, this is meant to be a broad overview of most of the early things found in the leaks. I made a list above this to show exactly what I did and did not cover so you can be sure I did not cover anything you do not want to hear.
