Brandy tells Hayley the story of the Dardeen family murders. In 1987, the loving, hard-working Dardeen family were found murdered after Keith Dardeen failed to show up for work one November morning. The events of that evening shook the small town of Ina, Illinois to its core and remains unsolved to this day.

Brandy and Hayley discuss the murder of Mary Byron, which occurred in their hometown, Louisville, Kentucky, in the winter of 1993. Mary Byron's murder lead to the Jefferson Co. Attorney's office creating the VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) system, alerting victims of violent crimes upon release of their offenders from jail or prison, in 1994.
