Sin operates through our physical body, and Paul dealt with this in detail in Romans chapter 7. Sin and disobedience are carried out through our members, and it is essential that we die to the flesh daily. Yes we are saved and new creatures, but we are not in our glorified bodies and the flesh will try to overthrow the new nature. In other words, we are aware of sin, and yet it is still present and desires to rule us.

The Jews had been invested more in the Kingdom than the Gentiles. They were not grafted in, but were in fact the native branches on the Tree of God. As stated previously, this did not exempt them from judgment, and the moment they turned their hearts away from God, He cut them off (temporarily). If God did not spare Israel, He will not spare the Gentiles either (This is only referring to those who profess salvation)

God knew that Israel would fall and the Gentiles would readily accept the very thing that Israel rejected. It was always God’s intention that the Gospel be given to the whole world, for it was revealed in the promise to Abraham (Gen. 12:3).

The idea is the Jews were claiming that if Jesus Christ was really the Son of God, and His Gospel message was true, then every person would receive Him. Paul counters this line of thinking with the words of Isaiah, which states that few would believe the report of the Lord. When the sinner hears the Word of God as it is preached by a Spirit filled believer, the sinner will either believe or not believe what they have heard.
