What is typology? Why is it important? Is the Jesus story really on every page of the Scriptures?

Jesus fills the pages of Zechariah and learning to see Him makes this book come alive in ways that are simply impossible without Him.

"On that day"; Another look at the great battle; The Mount of Olives is "split"; darkness, earthquake, a fountain opened; God's people despoil their enemies; people from all nations worship the Lord.

"On That Day"; the removal of false prophets; the striking of the Shepherd from Mark 14:27; the refiner's fire.

God's people are under siege; God comes to their rescue; Mourning for the one (God?) who is pierced;  a fountain of forgiveness is opened.

Israel filled with bad shepherds; Zechariah plays the good shepherd, but is rejected; 30 pieces of silver; the return of bad shepherds.

Judgement on bad shepherds; the coming of a cornerstone; the gathering of all of God's people as a flock.

Philistines a remnant?! The King rides in on a donkey.  Bread & Wine for those God loves.

Part 2 of Chapter 7 & 8. A chiastic structure of the passage is laid out.  An emphasis on the promise originally made to Abraham.  An answer to the fasting question. Stress upon a great desire to "take hold" of the blessings of YHWH.
