Zach Schultz-Bates from the Pablo Foundation, discusses thework the organization does to impact the area.  Namely, helping to grow the various non-profits here  to better the community.  One of those being Feed My People andtargeting the issue of hunger insecurity.

Along with grants, what are other things the PabloFoundation does to assist non-profits.  We learn about the workshops and education opportunities the Pablo Foundation sponsors to strengthen the staffs these non-profits have.

And he discusses the importance of engaging with the nextgeneration of community volunteers and stirring that passion within them.

We tee it up on this edition as we sit down with Chris Anderson, the head girls and boys golf coach at Altoona to talk about the sport he loves and the programs he leads. He sheds light on how he attracts talent for the program and why commitment is his most important trait he is looking for.  The role he plays in both working on the physical but also the emotional aspects of this highly mental sport.  What do scholastic level golfers do well andwhat typically needs work?

The spotlight shines on the Chippewa Valley Symphony as they embark on their 51st  year. It’ll also be the final year for music director Nobuyoshi Yasuda, who has been with the symphony since 1993.  “Nobu”and Executive Director Anna Rybicki sit with Kathy Wright to talk about one of these cornerstones of the region’s cultural scene.

We hear about the symphony’s mission to bring world-classmusic to the area. Where the performers come from and Nobu’s own unique journey that brought him to town.

A flurry of weekend activity at the Northern Wisconsin StateFairgrounds continues Oct. 4th and 5th with the AnnualChippewa Valley Quilt Show.  Ann Stahl with the local quilting group Stitching Pals, is one of the coordinators of the show.  Over 225 quilts from local stitchers are expected to be on display and many quilts will be for sale.

The Stitching Pals are currently are roughly 75 members strong and they meet Mondays  at the ChippewaFalls Bible Church at 1pm. This is just one of a number of sewing guilds in thearea.

The annual Spirit of the Macks fundraiser for the MACSBooster Club is Saturday October 4th. The Chair of the McDonell Athletic Booster Club Lori Grant, and Girls Basketball Coach Sally Williams preview theevent and expand on how this fundraiser and the booster club in general impacts the school community.  The importance of athletics and co-curriculars in general in the process of  growing a student’s experience.
