She’s the author of Tarot Correspondences: Ancient Secrets for Everyday Readers, and is the co-host of the Fortune’s Wheelhouse podcast with Mel Meleen.

Susie and I have been corresponding for years, but until we both found ourselves in attendance at this year’s Viridis Genii Symposium, we’d never had the chance to talk in person. Welcome to Eavesdropping at Midnight, a series of conversations between myself and other practitioners of astrology, magic, and alchemy. Although it is, in some sense, a podcast, it won’t be coming out weekly, but as opportunities for good conversations present themselves and as schedules allow.

This project was born out of the desire to share some of the late-night conversations I’ve had with my peers. I’ve learned so much from comparing notes and swapping stories with people deep into the wee hours and wanted to pass that on. Furthermore, I am lucky enough to know a lot of amazing people, and a number of them aren’t already all over the internet, podcasting their hearts out. This project is an invitation to enter a casual but rich conversational space and see what emerges.

My partner in conversation for this, the very first episode of Eavesdropping at Midnight, is none other than Mr. Tony Mack.

Tony is a professional jeweler and metalsmith based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, who specializes in working with clients on a one-to-one basis to create custom pieces in perfect alignment with their intention. More than a few of those pieces happen to be talismans.

Tony is also fine astrologer and a finer astrological magician. His combination of skills makes him an exemplar of the celestial art — a practitioner who makes a regular practice of uniting heaven and earth, star and stone.

I’ve known and worked with Tony for almost a decade now, and couldn’t be happier that he’s my first guest ever. We tossed a couple stories back and forth, and had a great chat about the finer points of astrological magic. Enjoy.
