Dr. Crane calls this passage one of the most remarkable in all of Scripture. We learn that salvation does not come by our works, but is provided to us by the cross of Jesus Christ, who paid our debt by his atoning sacrifice, purchased our freedom, and freely gave us the gift of righteousness.

Dr. Crane shares how God has made it possible for anyone who believes in Jesus Christ to be justified before God, because Jesus has redeemed them from their sin, and given himself as a sacrifice which atones for their sins.

Dr. Crane shares Paul's case that all people are guilty and under the control of sin. We cannot save ourselves, but what we cannot do on our own God has provided for us through Jesus.

Dr. Crane shows how we can take God's faithfulness and righteousness for granted, while minimizing the need to punish sin. We are blessed with God's Word and its reliability, and we have been warned about the coming judgment of God.

Dr. Crane speaks on the problem of being too religious, and missing out on having a right relationship with God. When we allow God to transform our hearts, our actions begin to follow.

Jakob King shares four actions of the judgmental moralist: accusing others while excusing themselves, using the wrong standard, thinking judging others will raise their own status, and showing contempt for God's kindness. Instead, we should allow God's kindness to lead us to repentance.

Dr. Crane shows that when we fail to glorify and give thanks to God, our thinking becomes futile, our hearts are darkened, and we end up acting foolishly, doing things we know to be wrong.

Dr. Crane gives us a good definition and explanation of God's wrath, and reminds us of the powerful evidence which nature provides for the reality and character of God.

Dr. Crane reminds us that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God for the transformation of lives, and Christians should never be ashamed of sharing it with others.

Dr. Crane shows how a reputation worth having includes a genuine and contagious faith, encouragement for others, and an obedient faith which changes our lives for the better.
