“As living witnesses of God’s new creation in Christ Jesus, ecclesia is a community of faith, love and hope.” These words from our church purpose statement identify “hope” as one of our three most precious commodities and priorities. But what exactly is hope, and why does it matter? What is its basis, and what are its benefits? Peter, in his magnificent letter to suffering Christians, helps us begin to answer these vital questions.
