Following the rejection of his kingdom manifesto in Nazareth, Luke describes a day in the life of King Jesus. What do we learn about Jesus’ kingdom, and what does that have to do with us? We’ll talk about that today.

Having described his infancy and preparation for ministry, Luke is now ready to describe Jesus’ public ministry, and the kind of kingdom he has come to establish. Returning to his hometown, Jesus makes an astonishing announcement: “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." Let’s take a close look at Jesus' “kingdom manifesto” --  what it meant for his first hearers, and for us as well.
