One day, someone hit a stick against a rock and liked the sound it made. They kept hitting it, found a rhythm, and without knowing it, music was born. Not from rules, not from categories, but from instinct... They used what they had, to express themselves in a way that felt right.

What is the Nigerian sound?  Is there really one way to tell African stories through music? In this first episode of Echo Chamber, I explore the idea of sound authenticity, the balance between African and Western influences, and why we should let storytelling, and not rigid rules, guide our choices.
