What if some of the funniest moments in the Bible are also some of God’s best lessons? In this episode of Echoes for Angela, we meet Jonah and his beloved plant, Balaam and the donkey who sees what he can’t, Sarah laughing at an impossible promise, Job asking God for answers, Ruth walking into a future she cannot yet imagine, and disciples who occasionally get things spectacularly wrong.

Together, these stories reveal a simple idea: we see reality from where we stand, but where we stand is not everywhere. Sometimes God teaches by giving an answer. Sometimes He changes our position until we can finally see what we were missing. And sometimes the mismatch is genuinely funny.

But the Bible’s humor is never an excuse to laugh down at people. Christianity points toward resurrection, where the people whose stories teach us are not forgotten or reduced to their mistakes. Sarah gives us the key: “everyone who hears will laugh with me.” The story isn’t finished. So stay humble, keep looking, and laugh with people—not at them.

Season 2, Episode 34

In this episode of Echoes for Angela, we explore a simple idea with enormous consequences: a person is always bigger than the part of their story we can see. From Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau, Joseph and his brothers, Moses and Pharaoh, and the stories Jesus tells, we learn why “hero,” “villain,” “enemy,” “betrayer,” and “victim” describe relationships and actions—not entire people. Understanding why someone made a terrible choice does not excuse it; it teaches us how to see from another person’s chair without surrendering truth.

We follow that idea through Scripture, Paul Ricoeur, Scheherazade, Disney movies, privacy, prediction, and artificial intelligence. What happens when a machine knows hundreds of true things about you? Does it know you? And when it predicts your next action, has your story already been written?

In this episode of Echoes for Angela, we follow a problem as old as communication itself: what happens when the receiver changes the message? From oral tradition and writing to religious transmission, printing, Shannon, Wiener, computing, and artificial intelligence, we explore humanity’s long effort to preserve meaning across imperfect channels. A simple AI misunderstanding—turning “like one photon shared or something” into a literal claim the speaker never made—reveals something surprisingly important: a statement can be factually true while still being falsely attributed. From there, we explore provenance, grounding, repair, version history, dependency tracking, and why ten repetitions of one mistake do not become ten independent witnesses. The lesson for Angela is simple enough for anyone: listen carefully, remember who actually said what, admit when you misunderstood, fix what the mistake affected, and never confuse your interpretation with another person’s words. Before teaching the server to preach, teach it not to bear false witness.

In this episode of Echoes for Angela, we explore All Roads Lead to Supper: a journey through hospitality, covenant, Passover, Jesus at the table, the Eucharist, Islam’s heavenly table, divine provision, ritual, memory, reconciliation, and communion with God.

The central idea is surprisingly simple. Human beings were welcoming strangers, sharing food, giving thanks, remembering, forgiving, and eating together long before we developed precise words like hospitality, fellowship, participation, and communion. The vocabulary changed. The act remained.

We follow that pattern from Abraham to the Last Supper, ask why restoration so often ends in a feast, and even look toward AI and robotics helping families make dinner.

This episode of Echoes for Angela takes one of the strangest books in the Bible and asks a different question: what if Revelation isn’t a secret code for guessing which politician, country, or technology is the Beast? Beginning with Daniel and moving through Revelation, Rome, empires, propaganda, global commerce, digital identity, artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and the modern information world, we follow the relationships that keep appearing beneath changing history: truth and deception, witness and propaganda, freedom and coercion, exploitation and communion. Modern technology doesn’t prove that Revelation is being fulfilled today. It does make some of its ancient images startlingly easier to understand. And beneath all the beasts, kings, merchants, wars, and machines is a lesson simple enough for Angela: don’t let fear teach you to hate people. Love the person. Hate the lies. Tell the truth. Pray for everyone. Stay close to Jesus. The point isn’t to get better at guessing the end of the world. It’s to become harder to deceive before it comes.
